whitesoxfan101
On the day Thome monster hits #20, Frank hits #10. If Frank can somehow defy the odds and stay healthy, he could hit 30 or so outta the yard, even though his average and OBP are so far down due to the lack of mobility. The Tigers have been shut down and out on back to back days by guys named Johnson with ERA's over 5. Well done boys. Phuck the Cubs
they should just stop pitching to Pujols in clutch situations. Take you chances with the next guy It can't be done. He is surronded with good protection. He seems to have no hole in his swing.

The Tigers have been shut down and out on back to back days by guys named Johnson with ERA's over 5. Well done boys. It could just be coincidence, since Frank's always been a slow starter. However, it appears that series in his real home park did him some good. In his last 7 games: (.474/.643/.842, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs)

If Pujols got the IBB like he should have today, it's bases loaded 2 outs for Rolen. Now Rolen is hitting over .300, but he has only 4 or 5 home runs and...he's not Pujols. CardsJimEdmonds15
But he's still a good hitter.. there are reasons they dont pitch around him.. For May: Hitting for Pujols: 1. Eckstein - .353 AVG, 0 HR, 8 RBI 2. Rodriguez - .321 AVG, 0 HR, 4 RBI 3. Pujols - .286 AVG, 11 HR, 32 RBI 4. Rolen - .316 AVG, 2 HR, 13 RBI 5. Edmonds - .271 AVG, 1 HR, 10 RBI (still hitting bad on the year but driving in runs, he's hurt now!) 6. Encarnacion - .275 AVG, 4 HR, 16 RBI (2nd best hitter on team in May) 7. Molina - .200 AVG, 0 HR, 8 RBI 8. Miles - .319 AVG, 0 HR, 1 RBI Then agan you wanna face anyone besides Pujols even if Rolen or a declining Edmonds can still make you pay.. rather have them beat ya then the MVP of last year and this year so far.. Mike Lieberthal was activated off the 15 day DL by the Phils. The Blue Jays added Edgardo Alfonzo, who was released by the Halos earlier this year. Jose Guillen hit the 15 day DL. I don't care how good ihs protection is (and it's solid)....I'm walking Pujols unless the bases are loaded if it's a clutch spot late in the game. And even then, I might walk him with the bases loaded if i'm up by 3 or more.
whitesoxfan101
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Akxj...ov=ap&type=lgns Mets call up Milledge, place Nady on DL NEW YORK (AP) -- Top prospect Lastings Milledge was called up by the New York Mets on Tuesday after starting right fielder Xavier Nady was placed on the disabled list following an appendectomy earlier in the day. The arrival of the 21-year-old Milledge from Triple-A Norfolk has been greatly anticipated by fans in New York since the highly regarded outfielder was chosen with the No. 12 pick in the first round of the 2003 draft. ADVERTISEMENT Milledge, drafted out of high school in Bradenton, Fla., batted .291 (53-182) with four home runs, 19 RBIs and four stolen bases in 50 games this season with Norfolk. He also had 16 doubles and 32 runs scored. During spring training, Milledge had a .327 average in 23 games. Anytime trade rumors have cropped with the Mets in the past year, Milledge has been widely sought after by other teams especially as New York looked for pitchers to fill in on its injury-depleted staff. But New York has been reluctant to trade another top prospect after sending away young left-hander Scott Kazmir, who was dealt two years ago to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays for Victor Zambrano. Kazmir, a 22-year-old left-hander, is second in the AL with seven wins this season and fifth in the league with a 2.86 ERA. Zambrano is out for the year following surgery earlier this month to replace a torn ligament in his pitching elbow. At last year's trade deadline when rumors swirled that the Mets were close to acquiring Boston outfielder Manny Ramirez, Devil Rays general manager Chuck LaMar said he spoke with New York and came up with a three-way deal involving Tampa Bay, Boston and New York. LaMar said a proposal was "about as close as it got," adding that the Mets made Milledge "untouchable throughout this trade deadline." Nady, acquired from San Diego in the offseason in the deal that sent Mike Cameron to the Padres, had surgery at early Tuesday at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He went 0-for-2 with a run scored Monday night in New York's 8-7 victory over Arizona that ended shortly before midnight. Nady was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning and left the game. While being examined, he complained of abdominal pain, and the appendicitis diagnosis followed. Nady was then taken to the hospital. The Mets said Nady, who missed two games last week because of a sore lower back, should be able to resume baseball activities within 10 days. He is hitting .267 with nine homers and 22 RBIs in his first season with New York. Mets fans everywhere cream themselves. Can't wait to see this kid play. Balta1701
The Reds acquired Esteban Yan and cash from the Angels for a Minor League pitcher. Matt Lawton has been released by the Mariners. Eric Gagne was officially activated. He'll now begin a 2 game suspension MLB handed down last year. Chris Carpenter officially hit the DL. He did throw some pitches in the bullpen. David Wells will hit the 15 day DL, again. Sheffield and Damon will both miss tonight's game, and possibly more. Damon has a sore foot, Sheffield has a sore wrist. Tampa Bay will remain the Devil Rays in 2007.
Kalapse
Albert Pujols is currently strolling to the plate on ESPN. And he just hit the umpire at 2B.
Kalapse
There was absolutely no reason to not walk Pujols right there, runner on third 1 out in the 3rd. Pujols hits an absolute scorcher up the middle and Birk makes a great play to get Pujols at first while the run scores making it 2-1. The Astros are lucky they only gave up 1 right there. Balta1701
The Mets acquired righty Dave Williams (2-3, ERA over 7, placed on waivers last week) from the Reds for a minor leaguer. The Reds sent lefty Ben Kozlowski to the Dodgers to complete an earlier trade for Cody Ross. Kelvin Escobar agreed to a 3 year, $28.5 million extension with the Halos. Sauerbeck entered a not guilty plea. Willie Mo Pena needs surgery and will be out like 2 months. Right after they got Coco back.
