Frank Helped us get to the Playoffs. Without his clutch Hr's , Blum and Willie may have not had a chance to even play in the playoffs.

He helped us win a few games. He is nowhere near the reason we made it.

And he did nothing in the playoffs because he was, let me guess, hurt.

Also, please remember these other numbers that people seem to forget from last year, when he was "in his prime."

.219 average, 31 K's in 105 AB

Of his 23 hits, 12 were HR.

He was all or nothing.

And he wasn't healthy. And he had missed how much time by the time he made his debut against the Angels? Could he have possibly been a little rusty? Or do you think Frank is just a .219 hitter now? K's, average, whatever, Frank made an impact.

Exactly. While Frank was not able to help out in the playoffs, he really helped the offense when he did play and I think he was a big reason the Sox got there in the first place.

As many have already started, Frank Thomas helped me become a Sox fan and I grew up watching him play. I will stand and cheer for him no matter where he ends up.

That doesnt change the fact that he is acting very spoiled right now. Honestly, this situation reminds me of when you get dumped by a significant other.

The only other point I have to make about this situation is that in an era where fans talk about a player's loyalty to a team, Frank Thomas played 16 seasons for the Chicago White Sox and wanted a chance to play out his days in Chicago. While I do believe it was best for this year's team that Thome is replacing Frank, I think a lot of people that are blasting Frank now also would have cried about the lack of loyalty Konerko would have shown had he taken more money to play elsewhere this off-season. Loyalty is something I want to see from both the players on the teams I support as well as from the fans.

No, he isnt the sole reason the Sox made the playoffs, but to diminish what he did last season when he played is dangerous. One of the great things about last years team is that you can point to every player and say something positive they did to help a team win a game (minus Kevin Walker).

Quit slurping this guy.

He obviously can't get over the fact that he is NO longer apart of the organization.

It appears some of you cannot either.

He is GONE. He didn't do ANYTHING in the playoffs. Nothing, not a damn thing. We won it without him.

Mail him his ring and move on.

Nobody is slurping anybody. Unlike some, I don't just s*** on a guy and act like he wasn't s*** because we happened to win a title without him.

He is the greatest Sox player ever.

I'm just tired of hearing him say obnoxious things that are not true.

He was not disrespected. And many, including KW and other fans, are tired of hearing him whine about s*** that he should have no complaints about.

What is so hard to understand about that? He needs to just shut his mouth and prove that he is healthy rather than talking about it. He is so insecure its comical.

Now let's say Mark Buehrle is the player in this position instead of Frank Thomas. You would be slurping him harder than anyone is "slurping" Frank. :rolly

I voted for standing ovation because I think he deserves it and that is what I'd honestly do. And I don't think booing would be cool.

However, I wouldn't have a problem with anyone who did nothing. Frank has done plenty to piss off the fans so if some chose to sit in silence I could understand.

He would never be. He lets his play on the field speak for itself and doesn't get into bashing the organization through the media. Buehrle and Thomas are polar opposite personalities. Stupid comparison.

I agree Frank needs to shut his mouth. I also think in this matter KW needs to shut his mouth. Frank has not handled this like a professional, that much is obvious, but I also think that anyone that thinks he should be booed when he comes back is full of s***. Cheer or do nothing.

The playoffs, for me, is where it counts. The man hasnt gotten a hit in the postseason since 93. When Paul leaves, or Mark, its going to be really hard. Those guys for me will always live in my minds as "White Sox Baseball" mostly because of what they did as for the Sox, and being the faces of the franchise when we won it all.

While he will go down as the best White Sox player off all time(as he should), I just dont have the love some others do.

So losing Geoff Blum was worse news?

That's exactly the answer I was expecting to hear. I'm fairly sure most would have said the exact same thing about Frank Thomas up until a few years ago.

He just talks publicly about playing for another team. Much better.

Again, i am one of few who will boo him. And the more i think about it, the more i think i will cheer. I will cheer because he is gone. Cheer because i dont have to put up with his immature baby bulls***. Sure he hit a few homeruns but with out him the sox still would have made the playoffs and won the world series. Hell, maybe we would have even won a few more games. (Frank hit about .220 compared to Carl's .250, so the law of averages says that we would have 3 more hits over those 100 at-bats, 3 hits that could have won games.)

He was a great hitter who used to be my favorite player, i even cheered for him when he came back against the Angels. I thought it was a new mature Frank. But i was wrong, so please Frank, get lost. And when you do come back i will boo you. Not because of anything you did on the field but because of the head aches you have caused. And i believe that assholes need to be booed, just to let them know how we truely feel.

You make it sound as if the Sox have been in the playoffs 5 or 6 times since 1993. He sucked in 2000. Just like Maggs, Lee, Konerko and the rest of the team sucked.

Comparing the two is laughable, so I won't get into a phantom debate. There is nothing to debate on this.

Buehrle would NEVER act the way Frank is. Mark is a class act, and if he does ever leave this team, it will not be a bad terms. Mark has the most class of any pro athlete that I have ever met. He would never pull a Thomas. Thomas is just a little baby, that feels like this team owes him something, when the fact is the team owes him jack s***.

100% agree. Thats why all the guys on the 05 roster hold a much more special place in my heart than Lee, Maggs, Jose, ect.

The '05 team will hold a special place in the hearts of all Sox fans. Doesn't mean you have to s*** on anything and anyone before that. And when I say you I mean people in general.

I'd give him an ovation, but on a minor side note, do you think he might ploy some conspiracy type thing, get injured right before his trip to Chicago, like Sosa did?

you never know what this guy will do. I wouldnt be surprised if he pulled something like that.
