White Sox Josh
Is anybody listening to ESPN 1000 right now? It is Bash Frank Night. They are saying that Frank should of run that shuttle drill even though he couldn't and they are saying it was lame to come with a doctors note. Also they are saying he wasn't loved by the fans? Did they see the game on May 31st last year when he came off the DL?

Still hits 12 bombs, including 4 game winners, in just over 100 at bats. Yeah, the guy has become a regular Rob Deer. He's just so done. And hit like .227 or something retchid like that. Frank should have never started it. KW shouldn't have responded to anything in the media. Period. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> KW ended it. Period. Chisoxfn
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) on one foot. I'm sorry, they don't give assistance to whether you do something on one foot or no feet. Did Jim Abbot get double the wins since he pitched with only one arm? Health is a factor. We could talk about how Griffey would be close to passing Ruth if he didn't get hurt. Maybe we should just add some hr's for him? Fact of the matter is thats what he hit. I'll give him credit for trying, but he was out there and I'm not going to look past that average. If he wasn't healthy he shouldn't have been trying because he wasn't helping the team (sure he hit some hr's but aside from that he was atrocious). southsideirish
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) IMHO the hierarchy of STFU and taking the high road Owners > General Managers > Managers > Coaches > HoF caliber players > Starters > Bench Guys > AAAA hanger ons I think it is a respect the game type of thing. So in this case, we have JR , nice move KW, sorry wrong Ozzie, nice move Coaches, all nice move HoF caliber player, wrong, but less than Kenny. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't agree with this at all. I don't believe in your "heirarchy of STFU". Either you do it and your all good or you don't and this is what happens. You show and give respect to others and you get respect in return. You act out like a spoiled selfish brat and you get reprimanded. You act out and you are told to sit down and shut up. Frank acted out so Kenny gave him a spanking and told him to sit in the corner and shut the hell up. That is the "heirarchy of STFU" in my opinion. White Sox Josh
Article Last Updated: 2/27/2006 04:20 PM A's Thomas responds to Williams' rants By Josh Suchon - STAFF WRITER Inside Bay Area PHOENIX - Calling their war of words ``childish'' and ``high school,'' Frank Thomas said ``it's time to move on'' three times and ``it's over'' three times in less than six minutes Monday in his response to White Sox general manager Kenny Williams calling him ``an idiot'' and ``selfish.'' Thomas heard the comments Williams made to Chicago reporters Sunday, which was a response to an interview Thomas did with a suburban Chicago newspaper that ran Sunday, and called Williams in Tucson on Sunday night. The new A's slugger said the phone conversation was lengthy and heated. ``Everything that needed to be said was said,'' Thomas said. ``It's over. We're finished talking. There's nothing left to talk about. As for love loss, basically there's not much love there over the last five years. We go forward.'' Thomas has admitted that he and Williams never got along, so this is a feud that's been brewing for years. Williams told Chicago reporters at the start of training camp that Thomas better be quiet or he might finally unload. The final blow for Williams was an interview Thomas did with the Daily Southtown, when Thomas continued to state his beef of not getting personally told they weren't going to exercise his $10 million option (he got a $3.5 million buyout instead). The Sox traded for Jim Thome to replace Thomas as DH. ``What I've done for that organization over the last 16 years, I deserved a little more respect than that,'' Thomas told the Daily Southtown. ``You take care of your own before you do things like that, and I just really felt the White Sox have never really taken care of their own like they should - and I'm talking from me to Ozzie (Guillen) to Carlton (Fisk) - year in and year out, it always happens.'' Williams responded with a long rant, saying it was ``not easy to deal with an idiot'' and ``he's the Oakland A's problem right now.'' The fiery Williams didn't stop there, reportedly asking members of the Sox public relations staff to remove all pictures of Thomas in the facility, as well as saying if the organization did eventually put up a statue of Thomas ``it should have a skirt on it.'' Williams was more calm Monday, agreeing with Thomas the feud should now be over. ``My message is clear: if he wants to continue down this road, I'm done taking the high road on it,'' Williams said. ``For six years, for six years .... this isn't just from (Sunday) or December. ``It's one thing to accept that hit while the guy is in the organization and you're trying to accomplish goals together. We've already had our share of those. But then coming from the outside, which is where he is right now. He's with another (bleeping) organization. I held it in and I tried to stomach it as long as I could. Enough is enough.'' The response in Phoenix was mostly amusement. A's general manager Billy Beane shrugged his shoulders and called the situation, ``two highly successful people and two highly competitive people. It's temporary noise.'' A's manager Ken Macha, at the start of his morning brief, said ``we've got a rivalry brewing. It was quiet before this morning. What do I think about it? I think it's funny.'' Macha also noted ``Jay Payton was a problem for the Red Sox last year,'' a subtle message that he isn't worried about Thomas. Macha raved about Payton's performance and attitude after arriving in Oakland at the trading deadline. A couple A's players were shocked a GM would blast a former player like that, but it wasn't a public discussion in the clubhouse. Thomas didn't raise his voice Monday. He was smiling for most of the five and a half minute interview with reporters. If there was one thing that appeared to bother Thomas the most, it was Williams making public that White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf loaned Thomas money. ``I think it was very immature on him bringing (the loan) up,'' Thomas said. ``Jerry's done a lot of wonderful things. I have a great relationship with Jerry. ... I had a very public divorce. He helped me out, of course. It wasn't a loan. It was more my contract. That was a nasty situation, back in 19999-2000. We moved past that a long time ago.'' When asked, Thomas denied his part in perpetuating this feud. ``I never embarrassed anyone,'' Thomas said. ``I never went after anyone. I never publicly attacked anyone. I spoke the truth. The truth hurts sometimes. Hey, there's nothing I can do about that. I'm not going to sit here and go back and forth. We don't need a back and forth. It's childish. It's time to move on.''v ONE-HOPPERS: Pitcher Rich Harden faced hitters for the first time, protected by a cage, and continued to feel really good after another round of throwing. ... A sign the A's aren't concerned about Harden's recovery from left (non-throwing) shoulder surgery: pitching coach Curt Young stopped watching Harden halfway through to watch another pitcher, and manager Ken Macha was on a different field. ... Harden's next step is a simulated game. .... Juan Cruz won't need oral surgery after all, instead he'll just gargle salt water, and shouldn't miss any time throwing. ... Jay Witasick felt slight tightness in his shoulder a few days ago, but faced hitters Monday and felt fine. Very classy Kenny.
