I hate to say this,  but you're being ignorant as f***. What do you mean what does that have to do with anything?  It means that either Walker is a fake or Kenny is a liar.

Another poster who can't express an opinion without using f*** and ignorant.

Stay classy, Soxtalk.

That's what I'm talking about.  Players and coaches have had nothing but good things to say about Frank.  Yet Kenny makes the "my players" and "my staff" hate Frank blah blah blah speech.

Nothing but good?

Paul Konerko with the indirect jab at him the other day.

That's one person.  I'm sure there are mixed feelings on Frank as a person, and even Paul in a recent article kind of took a little jab at Frank.

Paul said something to the effect that the organazation did a lot for him last year. Which I agree with somewhat. Besides that, he hasn't had anything bad to say.

Also on Silvy & Carmen they talked about an interview with Greg Walker.  They asked him what he thought of Frank.  He said that Frank was great and easy to work with.  He said he was well respected by his teammates and others.  Why would Greg Walker lie?

He's a southerner from Georgia. Georgians are famous for their easy-going nature, pleasant demeanor and Christian upbringing. They also elect corrupt lying murderers like W. Just because Walker is being polite and diplomatic doesn't mean Thomas is loved by everyone. The truth is probably somewhere between Kenny speaking for everyone and Walker speaking for everyone.

"I never got a chance to ask those questions [before]," Konerko said. "I've never really had a guy that I could look up to on my team that you know I could gain a lot of knowledge hitting-wise.

"We have a great coaching staff, hitting-wise, with Greg Walker and Harold Baines. There are a lot of guys who have been great hitters and been in big games. But there aren't too many hitters I've been around who have been older and who I've seen eye-to-eye with."

That's what I want to know more about. How Frank is regarded as a teammate.

I certainly never heard Frank being called the clubhouse leader, yet, I've never really heard or seen him badmouthed. In fact, there's guys like Uribe (and Rowand, too, correct?), who have been helped immensely by Thomas, and seemed to have been pretty close friends.

Like I said, I'm sure there are mixed feelings about Frank in the clubhouse, you've mentioned a few guys who he has(had) good relationships with, it's also been pretty obvious over the years that Paul never liked Frank.

This whole terrible story makes Frank look like a bitter man who really would rather be playing for the White Sox rather than the A's, regardless of his feelings for KW. Does this make me hate Frank Thomas now? Nope, I will always have fond memories of Frank. I still hope he stays healthy and hits #500. Either way, he's a Hall of Famer. But I still think that KW made the wise choice in replacing Frank with Thome. There definately aren't just two positions (Frank-lovers vs. Frank-haters) in this discussion. You can still love Frank and realize that KW made the right move for the sake of the team.

Oh no i can't state my opinion and say i support a team over a player because i disagree with you? Good stuff.

You can't state that I support the player over the team, as you characterised everyone who disagreed with you. B/c that's crap. I support the play of the team on the field. I don't support childish, pointless rants by the front office.

Show me one post, just one, by anyone who thinks that supporting Frank Thomas is more important than being a Sox fan. If you can't, then use a different argument.

I read that article. I must say it didn't strike me as anything odd at the time. But here's a quote from another article.

"He's a good person,'' Konerko said of Thomas. "A good person can do things like that. I've done things like that and I'm a good person. That's part of his personality. That's what makes him great; he's driven.''

Take what you will from it.

I understand that.  But Kenny got personal.  Nobody had to know about Jerry loaning him money.  It wasn't his place to say "my players and "my staff" are glad Frank is gone.  Who the hell is he to speak for those guys?

Again, this was well known for the last couple years, hell, Bruce Levine made fun of the fact. Kenny brought it to everyone's attention again in the heat of the moment.....

There really is nothign to argue here, Frank dug his own grave is White Sox history. He is the best player in Sox history much like Sosa is the best player in Cubs history. Will fans celebrate him for decades down the road?? nfortanately for Frank, the negatives will always outweigh the positives. How can an organization respect him (which they did), if he didnt respect his job??

Frank's comments weren't childish?

Plus, it's my opinion...that's why I, yes I, choose not to root for him or give him that standing O.

I don't have to show you anything.

Bruce Levine made fun of the fact? What does that say of Bruce Levine?

Sorry, but citing Bruce Levine lends no credence to anything in your argument.

I sure did. Backed up and ran over his sorry butt again, too.

But I stood and cheered him when he took the field at the cell.

"Thanks for what you did while you were here".

Right on, Steff. That is about how I feel on Frank. Yeah, he is being an a**hole, but I'll be on my feet cheering when I see him in May.
