They're the biggest, most athletic and most talented team in the mvc, no doubt.  I will say though, that if our offense is aggressive like it was today, we're going to be fine the rest of this tourny.

Rex, Evansville is going to have a decent team next year.  Everyone is back, Matt Webster is a solid player, and Jason Holsinger is a very nice looking freshman.

I'd love to believe that, but that is what has been said for the past 2 years and it hasn't happened. I'm just not sure the current staff can get them where they need to be.

Their resume is less than impressive.

6-4 against top 50 teams aint so bad. A 21-9 record doesnt hurt. An RPI of 42(which will drop after beating UNI) certainly doesnt hurt either. Thier resume is much better than you think.

In fact, here is a list of many teams records (vs top 50 teams) considered to be on the bubble or in the tournament :

Wisconsin-Milwaukee: 0-3

UTEP: 0-3

UAB: 0-2

Western Kentucky: 0-2

Air Force: 0-1

Texas A&M: 1-4

Bucknell: 1-3

BYU: 1-2

George Washington: 1-1

Utah State: 1-1

San Diego State: 1-1

Syracuse: 2-8

Kentucky: 2-8

Maryland: 2-7

Oklahoma: 2-4

Boston College: 2-4

UNC Wilmington: 2-4

Old Dominion: 2-4

Gonzaga: 2-3

George Mason: 2-3

Nevada: 2-2

Colorado: 2-2

Hofstra: 2-1

Michigan: 3-7

Cincinnati: 3-7

Arizona: 3-5

Marquette: 3-5

Florida: 3-4

Kansas: 3-4

Seton Hall: 3-4

California: 3-3

Missouri State: 4-7

Georgetown: 4-6

North Carolina State: 4-5

UCLA: 4-4

Tennessee: 4-4

Indiana: 5-7

Arkansas: 5-6

 Our resume is almost better then every other bubble team. We got 7 wins against the top 50 by the way kyyle. We're in, there is no doubt in my mind now. Our rpi is right around 35 now, 7 top 50 wins which is just so much more then any of the other bubble teams. Unless the committee just feels like screwing the valley over, we're in.

Don't get me wrong, they definitely should get in. But they also have 4 flat out awful losses, and the RPI doesn't take into account the loss to Alaska Anchorage but the tourney committee will. Southern had no good non conference wins, and only has one good road win. All those things are factored in. It really depends on how many teams the committee decides to let in from the MVC. If its 4 than Southern very possibly won't get in. If its 5 they are in.

Yup, the bad losses is the one thing that would keep us out. Still, the resume is to good to leave us out. As far as the mvc pecking order goes, we might be 4th being in front of creighton for sure and maybe missouri state. Obviously we'll see but I think we're in if the committe is fair and goes by the best resume's.

Seeing Bradley and SIU, two Illinois teams playing the championship of the #1 mid major on CBS tomorrow should be great. As for the MVC, I honestly think they will get 5. Bradley and SIU are in because of this weekend (1 as the auto bid of course), Wichita State and Missouri State are in because of the MVC season, and UNI is in because of their solid record combined with 3 VERY good OOC wins (AT LSU, Iowa, Bucknell). If the MVC doesn't get 5, it's a crime. Sorry Creighton, but your out.

UAB beat Memphis Thursday night, so add 1 Top 50 win.

I really think UAB is deserving of a bid, although their conference will hurt them. UAB is very difficult to play and makes things exciting. They could knock off any team on any given day. Barring an early fall in teh CUSA Tournament, I say they are in.

The MVC title game will air in about half an hour...on CBS! Dick Enberg! This is huge for the MVC. The title game was never on CBS before. This has certainly been the MVC's year.

Southern Illinois vs Bradley. All-Illinois, baby!

Also, I'll be very pissed off if both SIU and Bradley don't make the tourney. Both have done enough to deserve bids.
