That is the thing... he does not need to create his own shot. He already has an nba three point shot so he will get his fair share of shot attempts. If you can shoot like he does you will stick around in the nba for a long time... especially if he goes to a team that is very pick oriented

I guess the way I'm looking at it, Morrison seems like the more athletic player, and JJ doesn't have the athleticism to a good NBA'er. All of this is my opinion and I don't claim to be a basketball genius of any kind.

Honestly, I see Morrison being a Wally Szerbiak type in the NBA (a pretty good scorer who really needs to develop a more complete offensive game and any type of defensive game), and I find it hard to believe that Reddick will not be in an 8 man NBA rotation. Players that can do one thing very very well generally find their way into rotations and with his ability to shoot the ball, this is what I see happening there.

With regard to this year, I say Morrison is POY because Gonzaga would not be nearly as good without him (maybe not even a tournament team).

There's no suprise who I went with...

JJ Redick. Yep thats right, JJ. As much as I dislike JJ, and it's alot, I dislike Morrison even more. Whether its his constant whining that I first noticed last year, or his complete lack of defense. JJ atleast hacks guys in the arm and gives an effort :) . Morrison is just b****ing the whole way back on defense about a call he didn't get or a shot he didn't get to take. He's going to play SF at the next level, and he doesn't have the athletecism of even Wally, much less Bird. I would say he has a good chance of being Mike Dunleavy at his best, and even Mike is more athletic than Morrison.

Redick is getting his 27+ ppg a night with ACC level defenders that are mostly 6'5+, somewhat similar to what he will see at the next level, and he still gets his stats. Morrison is facing either slow lanky 6'8 kids trying to guard him, or 6'4 guys trying to chase him around. He's going to have 6'7-6'10 athletic SF's at the next level guarding him every night.

:huh

You know why I consider him a traitor. He's not near as bad as Haluska, and he certainly went about it in a more respectable fashion, but he would have won a national title here.

With the way the NBA plays defense and the respective levels of competition that they are playing against, I don't see how anyone can say JJ doesn't have 20 point a night potential in the NBA. Hell Hinrich gets brought up, and there isn't a facet of the offensive game that Kirk is better than JJ in. He's a better shooter and penetrator, not to mention JJ can actually hit a clutch shot. If Reddick gets drafted by a team with a solid penetrator at the 1 or 3, or a team that has a center who you can dump the ball into, he could score 20 points a night from the 3 point line alone.

I say all of this and I cannot stand Duke. I would much rather see Morrison be the better NBA player simply because of how much I think Duke fans sound like Yankees fans.

JJ Reddick will be a very good NBA player.

Good post. I think it's unfair that basically any white player is gonna get labled as not being athletic enough to play in the NBA.
