Well I guess it's time for me to eat some crow.  Thanks IU for not showing up.

The Rowand personal guarantee: Gonzaga will NOT make it past the first weekend of the tourny.

Xavier was so close, and IU is just well...uh...ya....

Well the Mike Davis era is officially over; best of luck in the future.

I hate using officiating as a crutch, but good lord. People like to say good teams would prevail from ridonkulous refs, but it shouldn't have to be like that. It should be called straight up and both ways from the beginning.

Absolutely disgusting. Indiana didn't look all that horrible, but I'll never believe they got the fair shot.

Duke West and Duke will definitely match up in the Final Four if they keep getting these calls.

Thats what its been like for the whole tournament. Alot of people think that the officials in the Illinois game were blowing calls and against the ILlini.

Is that all anyone does around here is whine about the refs? I watched the game and I didn't see favoritism for either side, but when one team shoots THIRTY SIX 3 pointers, and the other team shoots eleven of them, who is going to get to the line more often? Hmm, that is a real brain-buster. Nevermind that Indiana was out-shot, out-rebounded and turned the ball over almost twice as much.

Plus they only made a third of their six free throws anyway, so who's to say that it would have even mattered?

Yeah, you're right Spiff. I've been using the refs as an excuse all year. Mike Davis is also a great coach, and I hope we resign him to a 20 year contract, because he never got a fair crack at the job.

-------

IU does shoot a lot of three's, but never that many. That's not the style of ball IU's been using to play this solid stretch of basketball from mid-February to now. We've been going inside, with the guards and Killingsworth. Do you honestly think they would just randomly go to something that doesn't work on their own will?

They didn't reall have a choice. They didn't get any calls when they did go inside, just ridiculous and invisible over-the-backs and elbows called against us. I just could not understand what was being called on the offensive side, and there were so many invisible fouls away from the basket for breathing on them the wrong way. There's no stopping that.

Bingo. People here just hate Gonzaga, and need to come up with some reason as to why Zaga beat a Big 10 team :P

I mean, I didn't watch the game, so I can't judge it myself, but still..

I didn't think IU lost because of the refs.

Their interior defense was horrible. Nothing new there.

Batista and Mallon killed us inside.

Killingsworth's bonehead mistakes hurt us too.

Had they not been hitting those miracle three's towards the end, it would have been a 25 point loss.

Main thing that comes out of this is it just proves once again that Mike Davis does not coach enough defense and he never developed anyone inside that can play any defense whatsoever.

Get me someone who can get these guys to D up and you're looking at 20 wins next year without question.

IU is not a shootout type of team and they got into shootouts against SDSU and Gonzaga. They were lucky to win the first game and got burned the 2nd game.

Great effort for these kids to come back from almost being dead and out, but blaming the refs is a copout, as much as I want to find an excuse for them losing. They got out played, didn't go to the basket and usually the aggressor gets the calls. That's how it goes.

IU will be back as a top 10 program under new leadership.
