OfficerKarkovice
CHICAGO -- The World Champion Chicago White Sox have announced that 2006 season tickets are sold out. Fans who wish to add their names to the waiting list for 2007 season tickets can call (312) 674-1000 or visit whitesox.com. For the first time in franchise history, the season ticket base will be nearly 21,500 in 2006; also for the first time, the White Sox sold 2 million tickets prior to Spring Training, with nearly 2.2 million sold to date. The 2006 season marks the eighth time that the White Sox will top the 2 million mark in attendance (1983-84, 1990-93, 2005-06). "Selling out our season tickets is a great testament to the support we've received from White Sox fans in the past few months," said Brooks Boyer, White Sox vice president of marketing. "Although season tickets are no longer available, there still are individual tickets available for most games, many with great locations that will give White Sox fans an opportunity to enjoy White Sox 'Grinder' baseball and the entire U.S. Cellular Field experience." The White Sox drew 2.34 million fans in 2005, the fourth-highest total in franchise history behind the first three seasons at new Comiskey Park (1991-93), when the ballpark had an additional 6,600 seats. Chicago's 2005 average home attendance (28,924) was the highest since '94, and the 21 percent increase over '04 was the largest in the American League. The White Sox also recorded a franchise record 18 sellouts, eclipsing the previous mark of 10 (2004), and drew 39 crowds of 30,000 or more. Individual-game tickets to 2006 White Sox home games are available online at whitesox.com, at the U.S. Cellular Field Box Office, through Ticketmaster phone lines at (312) 559-1212 and (866) SOX-GAME and at Chicagoland Ticketmaster outlets, including Coconuts and Carson Pirie Scott locations. The Critic
"For the first time in franchise history, the season ticket base will be nearly 21,500 in 2006." I'd link to the story where I got this fact, but it's at the top of this thread already.

One year too early for me Sure I'm a season ticket holder this year but I'm none to pleased that I didn't have the opportunity to get my foot in the door sooner

YASNY
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 12:33 PM) This is WONDERFUL news for the organization. But not so great for out of town fans that don't know when they can get to Chicago. BTW, working on scoring tickets to the Sox and Rangers in Arlington. These are damn good seats, so I'm waiting to see what game or games I can get, then I'll check into buying online for the other game or games. They are only here once this year - the second week of June from Monday through Thursday for a 4 game set. I didn't buy tickets for this yet, I should have, but at this point it's not going to be easy for me to break away.

We missed connections last year and sounds like we'll miss again this year. As of now, though, there are still good seats available.

But that could be a great opportunity for baby's first baseball game!!!

Chisoxfn
Oh ya. I think I was the one who said this team would draw at least 2.7 million, possibly as much as 3 million. I'm feeling good about the prediction.
YASNY
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) I still dont know if the Sox can pull 3 Mil, but if the Sox dont hit 2.7 with 2.2 already sold, That would pretty much mean the Sox were not even close to making the playoffs. Win, and the people will come. Its that simple. Ya. Jason really went out on limb with that prediction.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) Ya. Jason really went out on limb with that prediction. I said this in August/September and people laughed at me. It was in discussion for what would happen if the Sox won the world series and I talked about the drastic changes a playoff run would make for the Sox. I also mentioned just how much a World Series would change. People thought I was nuts when I put up those numbers. It wasn't like I did it over the off-season or anything. The same reaction I got when I said the Sox could have a $100 million payroll in 2006. Damn I was off by like $3.5 million

WCSox
QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) "For the first time in franchise history, the season ticket base will be nearly 21,500 in 2006." What was the season ticket base at this time last year? 10,000? 12,000? I still think that 3 million (37,000/game) is a stretch, but 2.8 million (34,500/game) seems likely. SouthSidePride05
Does this mean there will be at least 21,500 at every game? Don't they just count the paid attendance?
GoSox05
The Sox may draw 8 million this year. You watch.
