SSH2005
matched his walk total too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even scarier. What does Jenks have now -- 9 BB's and 2 K's in 8.0 IP? concerned about Jenks? Yes, I am. especially without Hermie (or Shingo) around. fastest gun reading I saw was 94. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not too worried about his velocity. I'm worried about how he's walking half the guys he's facing. Edited March 22, 2006 by SSH2005

Yes, I am. especially without Hermie (or Shingo) around. fastest gun reading I saw was 94. He said it doesn't get up there to his normal until the very end of march/beginning of april. He said that in late February.

SSH2005
I hope our offense is going to be okay this year. It was so bad in spring training early and it had me worried that it wasn't going to be good this year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Rockies' pitchers retired 14 Sox hitters in a row after you posted this. I saw Jenks last Saturday on WGN and he looked pretty decent against the Cubs, but not over powering either.

Dick Allen
I am in Tucson and was at the game behind home with the scouts. The radar the scouts were using had Jenks at 91 most of the time. He hit 92 once or twice, and 93 on the 2 run double. Real games are a week and a half away, I think Jenks may find he is not the closer if improvement isn't immenent. I don't think it means anything, but all of the scout's interest picked up when Politte took the mound. He hit 92 a couple of times. I don't know what the gun on television was showing, but Buerhle looked good, and he never got higher than 84.
