Gregory Pratt
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 03:51 PM) Absolutely, mate. And he just walked someone.
Gregory Pratt
Hawk and DJ are talking about Greg Maddux and he great he was because he never cared about people stealing base as he trusts his pitching to take out the man at the plate, and they were saying that Thornton should take that example and be like Maddux. Well, maybe he should take some of Maddux's middle-aged talent instead.

Great point, Hawk and DJ.

ottawa_sox
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) Yep. He's pitching again, and back to form, letting the leadoff man double. Uribe just got a pretty good out on the runner going to third. And made a nice pick. Two outs. In Thornton's first inning of throwing today, he nearly gave up a homer but it barely missed to Left. Everytime he pitches I'm going to be on pins and needles. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) The problem with Thornton is that it doesn't really matter how good or bad he looks in one inning. He can pitch lights-out one inning and get completely shellacked in the next. He has no consistency. The Royals announcers made it sound like the double ended up that way because Mackowiak dove and did not come up with it. And the 'almost' homer didn't reach the warning track. jphat007
I'm glad Ross is on the roster. Kid can rake. Our whole bench can hit the ball. Our Sunday lineup is to be feared!
SSH2005
Our bench is pretty awesome. It's a little light on power but I'd rather have good hitters than homer-or-nothing hitters like Borchard. We even have Ozuna for some speed.

ottawa_sox
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 26, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) Yeah, any updates? We face Greg Maddux tomorrow. I don't know who is pitching fror the Sox now. I think Thornton gave up 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 innings. 1 other runner reached on an error, which he pitched around. The Royals have scored twice in the 8th, but the Royal announcers are talking to somebody about the condition of some players and they are not really following the game too closely

Hopefully he's just going through a dead arm period or the air is affecting his sinker. He was shelled his last outing with the major league team.
