SSH2005
Anyone else notice that the Sox are using a DH while the Cubs are not? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, Ozzie wanted to get Thome some AB's so Dusty let him use the DH. Dusty wanted Maddux and his pitchers to get some AB's so he went without the DH. Edited March 27, 2006 by SSH2005
The Critic
QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) Anyone else notice that the Sox are using a DH while the Cubs are not? Yeah, the AL team can ask the NL team if it's OK when the NL team is home. The NL team, if they agree, can choose to also use the DH or stay with the pitcher batting. Probably got permission from the Cubs so they could get Thome some at-bats. Usually though, if the NL home team allows it, they'll use a DH as well. Kinda wierd. maggsmaggs
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Politte in to pitch for Buehrle. Francisco Hernandez in to catch for Pierzynski. Chris Getz in at 2B for Iguchi. Getz is a player to watch, he can do everything except hit for power. But he can run, walk, strike out rarely, field his position, has great arm strength. He is a big-time keeper.
