SSH2005
I think a lot of people are a bit concerned with our pen but you have a history here of overreacting over certain things so whether that's in the past or not it might come back to bite you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I said from the start that I hope Thornton proves me wrong. I'm not rooting against him. I want him to succeed like everyone else. Right now, the bullpen looks a bit shaky and almost everyone realizes it. I don't see how I am overreacting in this case. I agree with JimH and would like to see the Sox pick up another arm and stash him at Charlotte. Edited March 31, 2006 by SSH2005
DBAHO
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 31, 2006 -> 11:54 AM) Right now, the bullpen looks a bit shaky and almost everyone realizes it. I don't see how I am overreacting in this case. But you have to admit, things look better than they did a week ago. Thornton's thrown something like 5 scoreless innings in a row (albeit it is Spring Training, and results from that should be taken with a grain of salt). And every other team is going to have major problems finding 6 or 7 guys in their pen who can all contribute well to their team's success. Like in Cinci, can you trust that Danny Graves is back to where he was a few seasons ago, considering how bad he's been after that? Is Francisco Liriano going to handle being the only lefty in the Twins pen etc. And KW knows that the more guys he can find for this pen the better, which is why he's probably still working the phones and trying to find a guy or 2, whether it's from the major league pen, or a guy to stash in AAA for a while.
