witesoxfan Posted May 30, 2003 Share Posted May 30, 2003 I am watching the game via Yahoo!, and I see Lawton's average is at .215....and it was down last year too, though he was hurt later in the season too(as I type, he gets a base-hit ). This guy was a very solid player in Minnesota, and put up some good numbers(hell, in 2000, he hit .305 with 13 homers, 88 RBIs, 91 walks and 63 K's... .405 OBP and an .865 OPS....I remember him hitting a walk-off dinger the day we clinched the division...I was there!). Actually i think there is a different reason... he got paid for his preformance at the dome... and like many players hes not quite as good away from its fast astro turf.
