aboz56
Since we've already lost Gordon to ILL, it's time to start focusing on guys like Robbie Hummel, considered the 2nd best junior in the state. His teammate Martin is supposed to be a sleeper as well. And the early news on him is promising: http://nwitimes.com/articles/2006/04/01/sp...14300057bac.txt Now KS just needs to get working on Moore from East Chicago, Jones from Ft. Wayne (I'm expecting Zach to help here too!), JaJuan Johnson from Franklin Central.... All of these guys are top 100 guys and would go a long way in rebuilding the IU tradition early on. I am expecting 3 of these 5 guys I listed.
greasywheels121
That's good to hear. I'm liking all the early reports on Sampson. He's doing a great job reaching out to fans, the community, etc. He's trying to bring the former players and alumni back into the IU family, after being absent for the last 6 years. These are all great improvements from recent times.

whitesoxin'
Greasy, another important thing for Hummel is that a lot of his friends are going to IU and everyone here wants him to go there. If an offer from Duke comes though, he will without a doubt go there. His upside is amazing: tall, long arms, quick release, plays guard. To top it off, he's one of the nicest guys ever. Him and Martin are really nice and have their heads screwed on right. I sit next to Scotty at lunch that's my claim to fame. Edited to add: Don't be discouraged by Hummel's numbers. He is too nice and passes the ball off all the time. The coaches are constantly trying to make him shoot more. After the first loss of the season, I asked Hummel why he passed up a three pointer with 4 seconds to go that would have given us the lead and he said because somebody else was open for a short jumper that would have tied the game. He just needs to realize how good he can be. Oh and don't get too excited about the hat because he has been wearing that hat ever since the fall. It's just a hat that he wears like anyone else. As for Scott, right now he is playing better than Hummel, but our offense is more centered around Scott. He could be reaching his ceiling soon too, but you never know.
