Rowand44
I got one as well. Got there right at 11, waited in the huge ass f***in line at gate 5, cut a few people on the way because I was nervous they'd be gone.
Soxfan78
When I was leaving the game, there was some guy in Lot E willing to buy peoples WS rings for $25 bucks each. There is no way I would pay over 10 bucks for these rings on Ebay.
southsideirish
QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Apr 4, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) Thank god my gf went to the game, and gave hers to me. She said Rowand was at the ceremony, and got teary eyed when he received his ring. Who else was there? Harris?, Crazy Carl? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was at the game and I got teary eyed and chills going up my spine when the crowd was going nuts for him. It was awesome. southsideirish
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 02:15 AM) I got there at 11 and still managed to get 1 while cutting in line!!! No one held a gun to your head about spending the money and as for a 50 cent ring, shows your character even more by cutting in line for something you value at 50 cents <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with you Matt, about everything you said. That was a f***head asshole thing to do. Then to go on a message board and brag about it like you did something fantastic of funny shows exactly how much class and respect some people actually have. It doesn't matter that I got one or that you got one, but what about the people that were originally in front of him that should have got one but didn't because he is an asshole. If he got there at 10:30 and was crying about having standing in a line to get into a line and not being able to get one, then think about how long the people that were in front of him were waiting for. I just think it is one f***head asshole move to do something like that. Too bad he didn't get the s*** kicked out of him for doing it. watchtower41
All these ebay rings come from the abundance of Cubs fans in the park yesterday.... WAY TOO MANY. I missed out on a ring but not because I wasn't there earlier enough, moreso coming from the fact that the parking continues to be an absolute joke. So I'm waiting to park in Lot F at 11:10 am, maybe 3-4 cars from the attendant, when they stop the line and start talking on their walkie talkies (mind you, Lot F still was half empty and Lot L was still 60% empty. The attendant comeas back and said sorry, can't park anymore here we have to leave these lots half empty, go to IIT lots. Ok fine, expect for the fact that the Sox don't have an contract with IIT during day games. At 11:15 they were moving cars to 31st and Lake Shore with half empty lots in F and L. People were getting out of their cars and swearing... I'm surprised a riot didnt break out. The Sox couldnt have be more unprepared to start the season with public relations and overflow crowds. All the new employees are clueless. That being said, I have a lot of great tickets for upcoming games and extra signed balls from soxfest if anybody wantys to trade me a ring. Its not that I HAVE to have one because they are so great, actually theyre kinda ghetto in their little dimebags, but being a season ticketholder for the past 5 years, I do want one. If you have an extra and are willing to trade for a couple lower deck tix, or some autographed memoribilia, please pm me or let me know. Balta1701
The White Sox also announced a special auction involving three authentic World Series rings to be won by fans. The team will sell a maximum of 100,000 tickets, at $20 apiece, from April 14 at 10 a.m. CT to July 31 at 6 p.m. The winner's name will be engraved on each ring, just like the players and coaches. Proceeds go to White Sox Charities.

You still said it though, and will take a little hiatus as a result. Since the season's started and the activity's increased, the respect level's gone to the way side the past couple days. We're going to start cracking down on out-of-line posts and begin punishing guilty-parties, in hopes of ceasing an unbearable PHT during the course of the season. Once again, Soxtalk encourages a free discussion between its members, but does not allow personal attacks, threats, graphic sexual material, and nudity. Follow those few rules, and SoxTalk will continue to be the GREAT board that it has become.

We need to ocassionally remind people of this and with the season starting back up we need to be careful that people still are aware of being respectful to other posters. This goes for all posters, when you make a post, before hitting the submit button, think quickly and make sure you aren't disrespecting another poster. Disagreeing and debating aren't a sign of disrespect and we encourage a free discussion that doesn't involve personal attacks, threats, or porn. Texsox
QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) My apologies. But I stand by what I wrote. That's fine, but please remember that standing on the other side are the mods and admins that are not going to let this season get out of hand with personal attacks. We understand that new posters sometimes take some time in getting comfortable and understanding what we will allow. There are boards that try to be all things to everyone and will allow anything by anyone, some people like that. There are boards that if you don't agree with the board owner and have perfect manners, you are gone. We're somewhere in the middle and we like it that way.
