WSoxMatt
Did USCF get a new organ this year or is it tuned different. I thought so yesterday but hearing it again today makes me certain that it sounds completely different from last yr
Dick Allen
The regular organ broke in the 2nd inning of the opener. They are using a temporary one until it is fixed.

G&T
QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) This is Nancy's farewell season.. correct? Last I heard. She'll only be at day games I believe.
knightni
So.. why fix the organ?
G&T
I assume she wants to play an instrument whens she goes to work for the rest of the season... And the replacement sounds bad, I guess. Edited April 6, 2006 by G&T
IlliniKrush
There was a ton of organ music the past two games, and i loved it. It's going to be tough going to a game where the majority of the music is not organ music. I could tell the organ was a bit different, as well, just didn't know what was up. It sounded pretty damn good.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) So.. why fix the organ? I am hoping/assuming that The Sox know how popular the live organ was, and will have a replacement player when Nancy fully retires.

NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 08:17 AM) Nancy cannot be replaced. Oh I'd rather see her stay. But between a new organist and no organist (just cheesy replayed stuff), I'll take a new one, thank you.

I am going to really miss Nancy though, talk about the theme song for your childhood... Its a sad day in Sox history when Nancy unplugs the organ for the final time, just as much so as when some of the star players have retired IMO. JoeBatterz
I was pretty certain they were not going to replace her. Cheaper to just play songs, even if it is not what the fans like.

Rex Kickass
Brooks isn't a big Nancy fan. Even the Yanks don't have a live organist anymore if I recall correctly.

watchtower41
I could be wrong here, but I thought Nancy was not coming back because her contract weas not re-newed by the Sox??? I believe they are looking to ditch the organ all together.

LVSoxFan
I highly, highly doubt that Nancy will be replaced or that organ music will continue past this season. There is a "Nothing But Nancy" day this year, I assume, yes? I'll have to hit that.
iWiN4PreP
They'll do the "na na na na, hey hey hey" chant when a pitcher gets blown out still, right? I absolotly LOVE that, and have that as a vid. on my ipod lol.
