Kyyle23
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) O's now up 9-4. You know, for all the talk about our bullpen woes, there's is just as suspect--if not moreso. Things like this dont help the Tribe out much in the bullpen dept. Their game yesterday was almost as bad as the Cubs'. And they lost theirs too.
Yoda
Nice to see us in 1st place all by ourselves. This weekend should be interesting though. We face some pretty good starters in Santana, Radke, and Silva while the Indians face the Royals.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(Yoda @ Apr 20, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Nice to see us in 1st place all by ourselves. This weekend should be interesting though. We face some pretty good starters in Santana, Radke, and Silva while the Indians face the Royals. Santana scares me like hell obviously. Radke and Silva should be interesting, both are guys with below average stuff who get by by not walking anybody and throwing strikes. Our guys have done a great job of being patient at the plate this year, but we need to attack Radke and Silva early in the count and often, because they will give you hittable pitches to try and get ahead in the count. Kyyle23
Doesnt Thome have numbers against Minnesota that are almost as insane as they were against the White Sox? I seem to remember that he was just as big as a Twin Killer as he was a Sox killer.

He basically raped and pillaged the whole division when he was with the Indians.

He basically raped and pillaged the whole division when he was with the Indians. Just another reason why the similarities between Thome and Hafner are so striking. They're basically the same player except Hafner has a higher batting average and a little less pop. Oh yeah and Hafner is just now comming into his own at the age of 28, Hafner had 76 career HRs through age 28 where as Thome already had 196. He's only 1/9 against Santana with 4 strikeouts. Here are his stats against the current Twins pitchers.
Rowand44
Betancourt has been placed on the dl. Cleveland is in trouble(well, not these next 3 games). That pitching staff isn't good as it is but now they've lost their best reliever imo for a period of time. They're going to struggle. And while on this same subject it appears Matt Miller will be missing 4-6 months after surgery to repair his right flexor tendon. What a horrible day for the Indians, losing 2 of their best arms for an extended period of time. Edited April 22, 2006 by Kalapse

santo=dorf
Jason Michaels watch: .243/.300/.270 3 RBI's. To think, some people here thought he would be able to reproduce his Philly numbers over a full season.

But then again, you coulda said the same thing about Pods if he struggled early last year.
