Benchwarmerjim
I forget which one of you loves the Twins bullpen arms, but here comes another one. And hes a sidearmer The Twins called up righthanded reliever Pat Neshek, a native of Brooklyn Park, on Thursday. Neshek was 6-2 with a 1.95 ERA at Class AAA Rochester, N.Y. He replaces pitcher Boof Bonser, who was sent to Rochester on Wednesday, on the roster. Neshek, 25, struck out four batters in three perfect innings for his 14th save Wednesday night as the Red Wings beat Pawtucket 5-3. He has been a closer in five stops in the Twins' system -- Elizabethton, Quad Cities, Fort Myers, New Britain and Rochester. Neshek, who graduated from Park Center High School in 1999, was third in strikeouts in the International League with 87 in 60 innings. http://www.startribune.com/509/story/536568.html
beautox
yeah i look forward to seeing who they put in the 5 spot after the ASG, and Pat Neshek looks to be solid. I'm still wondering whats going to happen to former twins prospect Travis Bowyer, I know hes with the marlins now, but hes basicly a Jenks/Turnbow clone, i hope he makes with the marlins. Benchwarmerjim
It sounded like Scott Baker or Boof Bonser would be recalled to the team after the all star break that would mean the Twins would either have to send someone down (Willie Eyre) or trade someone (Shannon Stewart, Kyle Lohse, Rondell White)
southsider2k5
QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) It sounded like Scott Baker or Boof Bonser would be recalled to the team after the all star break that would mean the Twins would either have to send someone down (Willie Eyre) or trade someone (Shannon Stewart, Kyle Lohse, Rondell White) Kyle Lohse has to be pretty much on his last leg up there, right? Benchwarmerjim
Gardy was quoted in the paper the other day that he like Lohse in the bullpen and has been doing a decent job in his role (mop up man)
Benchwarmerjim
Twins are going to lose another one its 9-4 Rangers in the bottom of 8 Carlos Silva 'hurt' his knee, but he was sucking. I hope he is out of the rotation soon. Justin Morneau absolutly demolished a ball for a HR and NESHEK (!) pitched and made all the Twins bloggers happy Edited July 8, 2006 by Benchwarmerjim
BigSqwert
Ozzie's decision to choose Mark over guys like Liriano is looking worse and worse. Liriano manhandling a good Texas offense on the road. Through 5 innings he has given up 2 hits, 0 ERs and struck out 7 while lowering his ERA to 1.88. EDIT: I'm not one to believe in jinxs but hopefully my post just did that to Liriano. He just walked 2 guys to start the 6th. Benchwarmerjim
with 7 IP tonight, Liriano again qualifies to be on the ERA leaderboard (he fell off the board during the week) he also passed 100 strikeouts for the season Edited July 9, 2006 by Benchwarmerjim

Jordan4life_2007
Let's just be happy that the Twins dug themsevles too deep a hole the first two months of the season.

Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Liriano is getting rocked 3-0/ Only with Liriano would we say 3 runs (2 earned) is getting rocked. For Garland, Garcia, Vazquez it's an improvement.

BigSqwert
Flash, your man-love for Liriano could be premature. He might not be as effective after the league has seen him. But I'm probably wrong.
Benchwarmerjim
according the the Roch Red Wings website (the Twins AAA team), RHP Matt Garza has been promoted from Double-A New Britain, and the Wings have signed free agent 1B/DH Erubiel Durazo. I thought Durazo was with a different team. hmm Edited July 14, 2006 by Benchwarmerjim
tealeafreaderii
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 13, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Flash, your man-love for Liriano could be premature. He might not be as effective after the league has seen him. But I'm probably wrong. He could always transfer his man love to Zach minor... he should be able to get 2 or 3 more wins before the league figures him out.

Benchwarmerjim
The Tribe bullpen wanted to give that game away, but teh Twins refused the offer
Jordan4life_2007
I knew Liriano was a fluke. So what's the Twins' record against the central now? Something like 10-24?
