greasywheels121
Well sweet. It was 6-0, and then our power went out for no apparent reason. We finally have power again, and some how we're getting twamped.
Whitewashed in '05
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) As leader of the pessimists.....KEEP THE FAITH GUYS! We just have to play our regular starters more often, and we'll be fine. I hope no one was expecting us to have a 15 game lead again this year. I wasn't expecting our starters to be s*** either. GoodAsGould
Im not saying the season is over or its time to panic or anything. But ive never been more disgusted from a baseball game since the 03-04 season. First time Ive turned a game off b4 its over in a LONG time. fathom
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Last year it took us 20 games until our first 3 game losing streak, this year 4 games. That's why I don't want to hear anyone tell us that "so and so worked last year, so don't worry about it". Last year's team had an amazing ability to win games they didn't deserve to win, and to barely squeak out games they should have won by more. We're all hoping for the best, but it's hard to win 2 straight years based on that same formula. We'll be fine!
fathom
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 8, 2006 -> 02:29 AM) Definitely not a 15 game lead but maybe holding a 6 run lead against the Royals would be nice? Even in a year where we won 110 games and the WS, we blew huge leads to the Royals. Some year, our pitchers are going to learn to stop throwing first pitch strikes to Sweeney. If this doesnt show that last years team played above their heads, I dont know what does. Our pitching the last 3 games has been below average. Dick Allen
QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) not gonna accuse anyone of anything, but i read in a chat on espn...someone asked gary gillette why there were so many high scoring games, and he said its possible that the banning of "greenies" could have something to do with it. he said alot of guys would take them before their outings to get amped up. Earlier in the game, Hawk said he was very interested in how the pitchers on the Sox would perform, then mentioned he was interested in all pitching performances, and kind of left the reason up in the air. This could be what he was talking about.
