CWSGuy406
QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) Right, but guess what, it ain't in game 6 of the season. They'll give him every benefit of the doubt, a few weeks at least. Jim, here's my question to you. Hawk just said something on TV to the effect of: "It's tough for the Sox to expect Podsednik to be hitting on all cylindars, afterall, he didn't play for the whole spring training." Well, then, why isn't he at Charlotte right now getting in his "spring training"? You know what I'm saying? I can't see a guy like Jerry Owens doing a whole lot worse than Pods is right now, and if Pods isn't at 100% health, he's a pretty ineffective ballplayer, IMO. Felix
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) Iguchi. He's taking pitches, and overall looking pretty good at the plate. Thats what fathom has been saying in the chat for a few days now, and I really can't find a reason to disagree with it..

CWSGuy406
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) Mackowiack could lead off. Not for any extended period of time, no he can't. There's a reason he's a bench player. His career line is something like .270/.335/.400.
fathom
Put Pods 9th, move Iguchi to the leadoff spot, and Uribe to the 2nd spot. I know it's early, but when you have someone swinging the bat as well as Thome is in the 3rd spot, it sucks to keep having an automatic out in the leadoff spot. His career line is something like .270/.335/.400. Nothing is worse than when bench players are overexposed when they have to play more than a few times a week. I remember how much Graffy's bat speed used to slow down after more than 2 or 3 straight starts.

fathom
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) can't see Oz doing something that drastic, especially this early. I just don't know why everyone's treating Pods like he's a superstar. If he's not ready to hit yet this season, then put his ass on the bench. It's not like he's a game-changer, no matter what his condition is. His 1-19 with no power can easily be replaced right now.
