JoeBatterz
Check out the big drop by Sports Illustrated. I have also added the Vegas Odds for the Sox winning the World Series. Sometimes money talks better than rankings. Sport Syndicate White Sox Power Rankings A compiliation of Power Rankings focusing only on the defending World Champion Chicago White Sox. Most of the sites post their rankings on different days and some have not changed since the start of the season. CBS Sportsline: #1 It's going to be academic if Thome is truly healthy again. Boy his numbers this spring suggest so. Having him slug away in that homer haven is going to make it much easier on that pitching staff, which was dominant enough in '05 and even better now. ESPN: #2 Three games, two absolute bombs. Seems like the old Jim Thome is back. Fox Sports: #5 Dropping two of three at home to your chief division rival is never a good thing, but at least Jim Thome is looking like the Jim Thome of yore. Jermaine Dye is out with a calf injury, but fortunately for Chicago they have credible reserve in Rob Mackowiak. RotoTimes: #2 After losing two of three at home against the Indians, the defending champs let the Royals get the best of them in KC. Sports Illustrated: #14 This is the same team that started 16-4 last year. It's a better team, in fact. Paul Konerko (.208 and homerless) will hit. So will Scott Podsednik. Better than 1 for 22 (.045), anyway. The pitching is there. So don't let that bumpy first week cause you to you jump off the bandwagon. (Sorry. That pep talk was meant for me, not you.) Vegas Odds to Win the World Series (Per the Stardust): 9/2 (3rd overall)
G&T
I expected all of them to be around 14 since they lost to the Royals twice. Anyway, it's clear that most people aren't as quick to count the Sox out as some people around here.
rventura23
im surprised so many of them kept the white sox so high
ZoomSlowik
Some of those haven't updated yet, which might explain why they're so high on a few of them. You gotta be pretty dense to drop a top 5 team down to the middle of the pack after one bad week of play. I bet they didn't drop the Yankees that far. That pep talk was meant for me, not you.) and for some of the pessimistic posters on here....
