Jimbo's Drinker
I worry about a rookie that the sox have never seen. He is supposed to be really good.
Soxfest
JV is a very good prospect better come ready to hit.

BigSqwert
He'll wet his pants after Thome takes the first pitch he sees 450 feet to dead center.
ZoomSlowik
I'd rather have Maroth, he's mediocre. Verlander might be young, but he's got electric stuff.
Balta1701
We did usually have troubles with rookies we'd never seen before, last year at least. Ervin Santana & that guy the Padres threw at us come to mind. Then again, last time we faced a guy like that, Brian Anderson had a pair of home runs, and that guy was pretty good. And so's that "Three-gorilla strong" guy we've got hitting 3rd. So hopefully we'll have a few things working for us.
beautox
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) I'd rather have Maroth, he's mediocre. Verlander might be young, but he's got electric stuff. agreed i've been tracking this kid for a while he has flithy stuff. In his start against tex he went 7IP, 2H, 2BB, 7SO. I've got him in my MLB 30mil fantasy challenge and a steal too 500k for both him and anderson i also have thome he was only 5.6mil as my CI what a deal. Chisoxfn
Sox can hit good FB pitchers. Verlander is a studly prospect, but he's not invincible. If this team is patient they will be able to draw walks and sit on his fastball. However in a year or two him and Bonderman are going to be really tough to beat. bjm676
Verlander's got sick stuff. It might be tough.

I agree. With Maroth, you're probably going to get 3-4 runs, unless he's really on. Verlander has electric stuff though, and he's more the type that's likely to give up 1-2 runs.
