Whats the name of it so i can try and find it?

Im guessing that it is 8 minutes long, 4 minutes of singing, 3 minutes of strange ambient noise, and 1 minute of badass bass-ness.

Very cool song hi8is. Tool is funny in that you can listen to .001 seconds of a song and identify them. They like to use those unique guitar and bass effects that give them such a surreal sound, and then Maynard steps in and does his thing. They still sound fantastic

New Album Info

Tool Announces"Vicarious" As New Single, Release Date Set

Jonathan Cohen of Billboard.com reports: Tool has revealed the track list for its next studio album, "10,000 Days." As previously reported, the set is due May 2 via Volcano. The first single/album opener "Vicarious," which stretches past the seven-minute mark, is due to arrive April 17 at U.S. rock radio outlets.

True to form, the 11-track "10,000 Days" sports a number of epic tunes, particularly "Rosetta Stoned" and "10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2)," both of which clock in at 11:14. Near the end of the disc are the substantially lengthy "Intension" (7:21) and "Right in Two" (8:56).

"10,000 Days" is the follow-up to 2001's "Lateralus," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 2.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As previously reported, Tool will play its first U.S. show since late 2002 when it headlines the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 30 in Indio, Calif. No other U.S. dates have been confirmed. Afterward, the band will spend the first portion of the summer playing the European festival circuit, with dates on tap through July 9 at Finland's Turku Festival.

Here is the track list for "10,000 Days":

"Vicarious"

"Jambi"

"Wings for Marie (Pt. 1)"

"10,000 Days (Pt. 2)"

"The Pot"

"Lipan Conjuring"

"Lost Keys (Blame Hofman)"

"Rosetta Stoned"

"Intension"

"Right in Two"

"Viginti Tres"

Easily my favorite band, and by far the best concert I've ever seen.

The song Vicarious is amazing.  I love this band.  I downloaded the CD and most of it sounded very non-tool to me.  It was like Hippie music.  I'm hoping they are fakes, but if anybody knows please help me out.

Hello fellow Tool-heads. Most of the s*** you'll find is fake. You just gotta know where to look. Anyways, you didn't get it from me. :D

Vicarious

Trust me, its legit. If you got a moral hang up on leaked music, wait till Tuesday when they release it to radio stations. Personally, its everything I expected it to be...f***ing amazing! Enjoy.

I beg to differ Hi8is.

is the singer finally showing his face??

Saw him do an MTV interview with Kurt Loeder a couple years ago while he was doing the rounds for the latest APC album, so yes, I guess he is.

BTW, I really enjoy APC. A lot of Tool fans hate them, I suspect mostly because they wanted them to sound like Tool. And if you are expecting Tool, you will be disappointed. But that aside, they are pretty talented, and with the exception of Emotive (their anti-war album) their music is pretty solid. Thirteenth Step was phenomenal.

And as long as we have a nice little Tool thread going here, what is your favorite Tool record to date?

I remember all the Tool were videos were done in claymation and there were no group photos in any of the CDs that I saw either.  I saw APC and the singer performed in this dark circle for their entire set.  I thought maybe he had a thing about not showing his  face.

Well, in their videos, you are correct. They still don't show themselves in their videos. For the most part, they've been religious (for lack of a better word) about letting the music speak for itself. You'll never see them make any promotional appearences, and they rarely grant interviews. Thats why Maynard's MTV interview was pretty strange.

If you are interested, you can see or read the interview here.

In regards to my favorite Tool album, I'd have to go with Lateralus. My favorite songs are on Ænima, but Lateralus, as a whole, was such a perfectly orchestrated album. Yes, it was a tad more radio-friendly, but it still displayed how crazy good they are. You really can't go wrong with either of them though.

Lateralus was definitely not more radio-friendly than Aenima. Aenima has 46x2, Stinkfist, Sink or Swim(sometimes called another name, but on the radio we had to call it sink or swim), Eulogy, H.

Lateralus radio singles consisted of Schism, Parabola, and The Grudge. Mostly because everything was over 7 minutes long and program directors hate that.

I am in perfect agreement of the favorite songs being on Aenima and the best overall album being Lateralus.

I feel the same way about 311. Music is my has my favorite songs, but as a whole Transistor is just awesome.
