jenksd
Scoring in last night's game gave Jim Thome 16 straight games having scored a run to start the year. ESPN said that this is a modern major league record(hasn't been done since 1900). Therefore, Kudos to Big Jim. COUNTRY STRONG.

Brian
The overall record is 18 games, I believe Kurkijan said. He could do it easily. Edited April 22, 2006 by Brian

TitoMB345
Yeah, the REAL record is 25 straight, back in 1894.

WilliamTell
That'd be awesome to see it happen. I know he's hitting his fair share of home runs but it's also a compliment to Konerko, Dye, and company that hit after him.
rventura23
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 22, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) 18 is the record for any string of games, not just to start the season?? yes in the modern era. Red Rolfe (1939) and lofton (2000- Indian) have 18. Billy Hamilton (1894) has 25. Its very impressive for Thome too since hes a power hitter and not a leadoff batter. It a lot harder to generate a run for Thome if he gets on than for someone like Pods. Edited April 22, 2006 by rventura23

RME JICO
Thome has scored in all 17 games, a major league record to start a season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap;_ylt=Atd...F?gid=260422104

Juan Peirre sucks so bad and I would vomit in my throat to have his terrible defense in CF... ANDERSON IS THE ONLY RESPONSIBLE CHOICE LEFT!!! OZZIE IS NOT THAT RETARDED!!!! QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) One ? for you guys... This deal is great... No ? about that... But have some of you not watched baseball at all... It goes... Brian Anderson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(Two Million More of These)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Juan Peirre Hell thats if Brian Anderson hits freaken .200. Want to know why? I hate this f***ing trade. Says the man with the Jim Thome sig. But to my credit later on in the day when I cooled off and got past the loss of Rowand I realized that the trade was for the best. Heads22
I think the Jeckle-BA lovefest is much funnier. I'm just going thru that thread now and getting some laughs. By the way, for Reading, Haigwood has 13 walks in 14 innings. 1-1, 3.07. WHIP of nearly 2.

Heads22
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5111062 Ohh Dayn Perry, what a vintage ass. The only fans who should be happy about the Thome-Rowand deal are those in Philly and those in Cleveland and Minnesota. That's because the reigning world champs are a worse team for having made this trade.
