Rowand44
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 09:46 AM) So wait a second...there's seriously a debate over which part of our starting rotation in the postseason was the most dominant, the guy who won two clinchers, the guy who won 3 games and got a save, or the guy who started off every series for us? Damn, I absolutely couldn't care less which one of them pitched better. All of their names are on the back of my t-shirt today. Oh I'm with you, I'm not debating who's the better in the postseason I'm just tired of hearing people say that Mark doesn't show up for big games. The guy had a 3.47 era last year in the playoffs and some people on here make it seem like he was horrible.
LVSoxFan
I'm just thrilled to see Contreras firing on all cylinders because I hated, HATED him last year during the first half. For some reason he was pitching at a lot of games I was at, and I was praying that KW would dump him at the ASB and trade for somebody like Burnett. Shows how much I know. Let's face it: that guy carried our team second half and had he not gone on that tear, I'm not sure we would have ever made it to the playoffs, much less the WS. I love the fact that he can throw from three different arm angles, too--we were marveling at that yesterday at the game. He's gonna lose one eventually, but all the crazy inconsistency from first half '05 seems to be gone. It's been fun to watch. I'd say I love watching him and Buehrle pitch right now--I'm still a little worried about Garland and Freddy.
Wedge
If things keep up, Cooper will have his 3rd All-Star game starting pitcher in 4 years. That's just an incredible run. Oh yeah, and Contreras is one helluva pitcher, too.
watchtower41
AL CY YOUNG. El Titan De Bronze will win 20 for the Palehose this year. Outside of PK, and maybe even more important, he was our biggest off-season extension. This guy has been filthy ever since he put the AL Central title on his back. FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOB SAIBOT WINS!!!!!!!!!

I agree, arguing about who was better between Buehrle/Contreras in the '05 playoffs is like arguing who's hotter between Jessica Alba/Jessica Simpson. In the end, they're both smoking! Cumulative Postseason Pitching Stats: Next Stats >> He was 2-0, with a 3.47 ERA, a WHIP less than 1 (even though its a useless stat IMO), and a save. He also only had 1 BB. Great job Mark! Contreras was even more dominant though, with a 3.09 ERA and a WHIP less than 1.
