The testing in 2004 was quite poor, if I remember correctly.  I thought it was after the 2004 season where the testing became "legit".

I read some article that basically said you had to be the world's biggest idiot to test positive prior to last season.

You are giving him and MLB players WAY too much credit with that comment. He was all but sent to Columbus last year, they had that "meeting" and then all of a sudden the power was back and Giambi gained some weight again. And then he's off to a hot start again this year and looking in shape. The HGH is back and so is Giambi, no coincidence. His health is secondary to his baseball livelihood, as it is with all the guys that take this s***, that much is obvious.
