White Sox v. Mariners

Notice that the Sox can't get any win streaks longer than 8? The highest last season was 8 as well, and we did it a few times. Oh well.

When we get to 8 games, Ozzie must run out at least 3 or more subs to make sure that winning doesnt get to our heads.

I honestly think Ozzie wanted us to lose that game. Plays 3 bench players all on the same team. Keeps Garland in when he obviously should of been pulled after the 7th. For some unknown reason gives Reed an IBB.

I guess Ozzie only likes to win 8 in a row.

Well, our offense was due for a crappy night like this. Good to see Garland pitch well. Good to see Cliff and Neal pitch well.

I have a funny feeling our offense would be a bit better if the regulars were out there with maybe one sub.

In defense of our offense that was a pitchers umpire tonight and those Home Run Swings by everybody from the eigth inning on didn't help either.

Seems like we can at least draw a few positives out of tonight. BA's coming around, looks like Cliff and Neal settled down, as well as Jon after the beginning.

You'll have these games.

Anderson has looked a lot better at the plate the last week or so. He is putting balls in play and getting some good swings up there.

Don't sell our offense short....the home run swings started from the 5th inning on.

Maybe, maybe not. Career numbers say otherwise. THey sure didn't do all that much when they were in there. But either way, Ozzie doesn't manage for just one game. He'll continue to do this for as long as he manages. We haven't had that many different lineups this year. For the entire homestand it was pretty much the same guys.

Yep, and we won 8 in a row. We had an amazing rhythm going....and simply didn't field our normal lineup tonight. It's not a big deal in the overall scheme of things....but winning the first game on this road trip would have been huge.

Isn't McCarthy better vs lefties?

Because of his change, probably..without looking at any numbers. We all know ozzie loves the righty/righty stuff though, so it's not like it was some unkown reason.

I do find it ironic though how the Sox had many deep fly balls with their homer swings tonight, but the Mariners won on a little flipper through the left side.  I think that might be jpaht's nightmare come true.

Well that seems to be what this team has been about for how long? Any late inning close games our guys just start swinging for the fences.

When he plays mass subs we lose, pretty much that is how it was last year, and that is pretty much how it has gone this year. When he plays the regulars our offense rocks and we look a lot better.

In the Garland Dept.

When you are up 3-2 late in a game, your pitcher has a guy leading off that is batting like .375 against career wise and has hit the ball hard everytime you go to your well rested bullpen. Our pen was well rested, our starters have gone deep in every game this week.
