maggsmaggs
Fields hasn't played in a couple days, hopefully nothing is wrong, but a sore thumb or something minor like that. Good to see Sweeney and Rogo heating up.
DBAHO
Kanny had an interesting game today (lost 10-8). Ricky Brooks hasn't had a good start to the year. 2IP, 5ER, 3BB's and 2K's. ERA up to 6.35 now. But now for the good news. Aaron Cunningham went 3 for 4 in the leadoff spot with 2 HR's (hitting .317 now). Salvador Sanchez went 3 for 5 with a 2B and a HR (hitting .234 now). Brandon Allen and Carter also homered. No Orlando today. I really like the look of Cunningham right now. He'd have an OPS of around .900, which after making the jump from rookie ball last season, is pretty damn good. He's becoming a very nice prospect, and I think more people are going to start taking notice of him. The Hogs lost 8-2. Torres gave up 5ER in 2.1IP. Kelly homered, Gomes 0 for 3 (hitting .213 right now). B-Ham won 7-2. Ryan Rodriguez had an excellent outing, 7IP, 0ER, 2BB's and 5K's. ERA of 1.88 right now. Looks like every starting hitter had a hit for B-Ham which is a welcome change. Valido and Schnurstein both had 2.

DBAHO
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) I like Cunningham a lot. I know it's early and all, but is there a thought of possibly sending down Gomes to low A ball, and promoting Cunningham to high A ball. I doubt it would happen, but it's something the Sox could possibly look into.

Remember they were thinking of promoting him to AA sometime this season so I cant see him being demoted to low A.

He's doesn't have a good average, but he's commanding the zone (14K:7BB) and hitting the ball hard (more than half of his hits are for xtra bases). He's not overmatched, just a bit unlucky right now.
