SSH2005
Perfect timing too! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you listen to Hawk enough, you will see he does it with any scrub pitcher that shuts us down. Obviously, Washburn isn't a scrub though. Remember Cy May on the Royals? Any mediocre to bad pitcher that shuts us down is an ace for the night to Hawk. southsideirish71
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 26, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) Pinero looked like an ace 1st time around the order last night. We all saw how that turned out... This is true, all I see is someone trying to get by with fastball after fastball. First time through, sneaky fast. Second time through, rock city. Flash Tizzle
Aces limit damage. It's time for ours to keep this lead at 3 runs. Step it up, Buehrle. Tonight, the offense may not give you 10 runs to work with.

fathom
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 02:48 AM) Buerhle's inning has nothing to do with Widger. It has to do with him hitting a guy and getting a ball up to Lopez. Buehrle had thrown about 4 straight slow pitches on the outside to Lopez. If you look at his swing, he was sitting on that pitch. It's the same thing that happened when Widger was calling pitching with Politte on the mound vs Sweeney. Big league hitters will adjust to pitches if they can establish a pattern.
