Balta1701
It's stats like this that make me miss Timo. Wasn't he like the worst player in the AL in VORP terms last year?

chitownsportsfan
Holy smokes--Thome at 17 already! Jim Thome has passed his 60th percentile PECOTA projection by April 25th. Way to prove the computers wrong Jim! Paging Joe Morgan...Joe.... LOL @ Mackowiak. Mackowiak is the new Timo so far. Whatsup with that Uribe ranking? His line looks OK, maybe it's because he missed some time with injury, and a bunch of SS are ahead of him in PA. Yea, VORP does use defense. I'm not sure what measure though. No, it doesn't. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary...php?search=VORP VORP scores do not consider the quality of a player's defense. chitownsportsfan
THANK YOU LOAZIA for that one flash in the pan season!!! A big thanks to Bryan Cashman and The Boss as well. AJ with a 5.5 already--that is excellent for him. I think these numbers show just how dominant this team has been so far. That and the RS/RA numbers are looking good too. I believe the Sox have the best Pythag right now as well.

chitownsportsfan
No, it doesn't. I stand corrected. I thought it did. Maybe it's my aversion to all things BP since a rather bad customer service experience with them.

DBAHO
Shows what a fantastic start Jermaine Dye has had to the season. Man wasn't he a hell of a pickup back in the 04-05 off-season. Especially when the alternatives included the likes of Richard Hidalgo (got released from Baltimore a few weeks ago IIRC).
chitownsportsfan
Yea, through dumb luck or careful planning KW hit gold with Dye and Iguchi especially--among last years signings.
RME JICO
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) Yea, through dumb luck or careful planning KW hit gold with Dye and Iguchi especially--among last years signings. I would consider AJ's signing in that category as well. He seemed like a considerable risk with the "cancer" talks and being on two teams in two years. SABR Sox
Biggest upgrade at DH in all of baseball. Carl Everett ended the year with a 6.3 VORP. From the DH position: Abolsutley PATHETIC. Good to see a power bat at a power position.
