Crede Bottom of 4th

I just got back from the game... What happened with Crede's double in the bottom of the 4th? I was in 163 and it bounced in to the row in front of me... fireworks went off and a lot of people thought it was a home run... but they never showed a replay on the Jumbotron. Did it hit the warning track and bounce in?

Wha Happen?!!?

That's exactly what happened. Robinson climbed the wall, but the ball bounce on the track and over the wall. The umps originally signalled a HR, but overturned that call after the conference.

The Roayls are so bad this year they've started taking money on the side.  Robinson was trying to sell it as a HR.............for some cash on the side.

Seriously though, if an ump can be decoyed that easily, it makes you wonder how much they actually see.

If they are really that bad AJ would be getting a lot more s*** goin his way.

I was at the game...section 350, I saw it perfectly.  I was a lil suprised when the fans were booing.  I thought it was fairly easy to see it bounced over the wall.

Me too. I was telling everyone in our sec, that it was not a HR and they all thought I was crazy. :drink :drink :drink

I was not too far from you. I thought I heard it (I was that close) hit the padding on the top of the fence. I know the reason they don't replay crap like that on the board is so that the umps don't have to take hell from the fans but if a pitcher has to watch his mistakes sail over the fence in 40'x50' high def, the umps should have to take thier medicine too.

I had a great view from section 102. Crede hit it and I thought to myself, "hit well, but not well enough." I thought for sure the center fielder would have an easy play on it. But then, he jumped up against the wall. A split second later, I saw the ball bounce on the warning track (6-8 feet from the wall) and bounce into the stands. It was a huge surprise to me that the fireworks went off.

Ground-rule double was the right call.

Haha, my grandpa told me that he saw it bounce off the railing over the fence, then come back in play and bounce off the warning track, and then bounce back into the stands. LMAO.

Is Cuck the Fubs your grandpa?

Did it?  I know there was one HR where he looked totally stupid but thats because he wasnt used to the small wall there and it didnt hit his head.

It didn't bounce off his head, sorry, it bounced off his glove. Same concept though :P

The ball just bounced off the track. Kerry Robinson miss playing the ball confused the hell out of everyone including the umps.

I watched the game on WGN and have to say it was one of the craziest things I have seen in a ballgame in quite awhile. I am sure that will be in some ESPN highlights. It sure looked as if Joe was going to get the homer and so it must have looked to Kerry Robinson. He jumped at the wall and the wind knocked the ball down enough for it to bounce on the rack and over the wall. I think the only one who knew it wasn't a homer was Joe Crede.

But on the otehr hand how about that Joe Crede and his great clutch hitting? I luv the guy.
