WhiteSoxfan1986
From Rotoworld- Charlie Haeger - S - White Sox After giving up six runs -- five earned -- in 4 1/3 innings against the Angles on Wednesday, the White Sox optioned Charlie Haeger back to Triple-A Charlotte. Haeger was unimpressive while walking six and striking out two. He'll head to the minors for now but will probably get another shot with the big club before the year is out. The White Sox will now go with Brandon McCarthy in the rotation until Jose Contreras returns. May. 11 - 12:19 am et It will be interesting to see who we call up. southsideirish71
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) I'd guess Lopez. The Score after game show was stating that it would probably be a righty recalled from AAA and it would most likely be Tracey.

Heads22
Tracey has stuff, but he needs to cut down on the walks. I'd be surprised if it was him, but he is on the 40.

Heads22
Tracey, 22 BB in 30.2 IP. You guys must hate him already.
Cerbaho-WG
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:37 PM) Tracey, 22 BB in 30.2 IP. You guys must hate him already. He was sent back to the starting rotation in Charlotte and cut down his walks pretty well in his last two starts. But yeah, so many walks, he's doomed to fail and we should ship him out for veteran scrap heap ASAP.
DBAHO
I would have given Haeger possibly another game, very hard for a pitcher in his 1st major league game to come out and pitch well straight away. But the Sox have obviously made their decision. I'd go with Lopez as the pitcher to call up because he's got the runs on the board and has pitched very well down at Charlotte, but if it's Tracey, hopefully he does well in a few appearances for us. Brandon is streched out enough to give 5 to 6 in his next start. He looked good.

I would have as well just because I don't think it's worth it to screw around with Brandon for one start when he's still trying to get used to being a reliever. DBAHO
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) Brandon is streched out enough to give 5 to 6 in his next start. He looked good. Yeah he did. But I like the option he gives us in the bullpen right now in terms of being able to pitch 3 innings, or being able to get a key out in the 7th or 8th. And our bullpen is still fairly volatile as it is right now. Hopefully whoever is promoted from Charlotte can fill B-Mac's role adequately enough. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) I would have as well just because I don't think it's worth it to screw around with Brandon when he's still trying to get used to being a reliever, for only one start. Yeah the last thing I want to come out of all of this is for Brandon to start getting arm problems. He's SO important for the future of this ballclub. Dick Allen
Haeger was predictably wild in his major league debut. Its pretty apparent the reason BMac didn't get the start was his back to back appearances this weekend. Haeger did earn a shot with his performance at AAA, but unfortunately its not going to work. I think he is total tradebait right now. I don't know about Widger or Stewart, but AJ looked totally lost trying to handle a knuckleball. Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) Is Jeff Nelson ready yet? I wouldn't expect him to be ready for atleast another month. It's too bad we couldn't sign him right after the Cardinals released him.
