Harry Chappas
Can the cat that did all of the charting for attendance reappear. I am to lazy to look for it but it was a cool little graph with some great detail. Two sell-outs against the Royals and 60K plus thus far in this series has got to be nice. This stems from the Trib gig about the attendance. Edited May 12, 2006 by Jenks Heat
KevHead0881
QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 11, 2006 -> 09:40 AM) Can the cat that did all of the charting for attendance reappear. I am to lazy to look for it but it was a cool little graph with some great detail. Two sell-outs against the Royals and 60K plus thus far in this series has got to be nice. This stems from the Trib gig about the cub attendance. What are the idiots pulling game by game. The question I have is why is our attendence being compared with the Cubs? I'd be more interested in how we are doing amongst the league average. The Cubs will outdraw us every game this year (they have a larger seating capacity and sell out every game). Their attendence figures are clearly unique considering the whole Wrigley phenomena, among other things. I don't see why the Cubs still outdrawing us is considered news. chaerulez
Who cares about Cubs attendence? The Sox are drawing fine, not selling out every game, but we didn't expect to, but the crowds sure have increased. More winning seasons by the Sox and more losing seasons by the Cubs will eventually change that.
LVSoxFan
Bingo. We will never outdraw the Cubs, period. Point being: we are World Series champions, so who the f*** cares?

This stems from the Trib gig about the cub attendance. What are the idiots pulling game by game. Here's the chart. So far, I've been wrong on 1 game that I had predicted would sell out (predicted on Feb.28). I thought the 3rd game of the season would sell out, but apparently thousands of tickets were released just a few days before that game. Everything else I've been right on. I haven't changed anything, like what's available for future dates, except for the announced attendance for each game. Harry Chappas
I like both charts, thanks. I like to see what we are drawing and there was some pretty serious work put in on these and hadn't seen them in a while. I did not mean to have any cub talk in this. whitesoxfan101
http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...e.aspx?team=030 They do a very nice job updating at that link too, it's updated after every home game. Has the game number, attendance that day, total for the year after that day, and average for the year after that day. Also goes side by side comparing the numbers to where we were at at that point last year. Edited May 12, 2006 by whitesoxfan101
ChiSoxLifer
Despite every Cubs game being sold out, there's thousands of empty seats. How many seats do you think is sold to their scalping agency (Wrigley premium)? The Trib co. artificially increases demand by allocating thousands to their agency. That's what happens when the Trib co. gets greedy. I hope no one buys tickets and they just wind up choking on them.
