39-year-old veteran to debut for Charlotte

By Alex E.

The Charlotte Knights announced three pitching moves on Thursday night, as Charlie Haeger was recieved from Chicago, Jeff Nelson was activated and Agustin Montero had his contract purchased by the Sox. Montero will be in the bullpen for the White Sox, while Nelson figures to bolster an already-strong Knights pitching staff.

I'm sure KW will also swing a trade for a good reliever at the deadline.

I'm not so optimistic that any reliable reliever's will be available... Anybody decent bullpen arm is going to cost a fortune because nobody seems to have a decent bullpen right now.

I'm inclined to believe that this is our bullpen for the year

Kenny said last year that we need to be ready to use what, 14 or 15 pitchers during the year? Counting Charlie, this Montero person, and Nelson, we'd be sitting at 14.

My name is Inago Montero you killed my father prepare to die?

I like the reference, even if the last name is different in the movie :P

That movie is one of my favorites from my youth, I always find it hilarious :)

What about El Duque? Can we swing another trade for him a la the two Everett trades?

Tony LaRussa and Dave Duncan are geniuses when it comes to pitchers - just ask them. Pffft. Just look at all the World Series rings they have won together with all that superior talent in Oakland and St. Louis.
