I'd just like to say that I have a lot more respect for Kucinich than I do for various others and the left end (Kennedy, Feingold, etc.). I think Kucinich is what some might call "the real thing". I haven't met the man, so I am speculating here, but his actions speak words of honesty to me. He is there to crusade for what he sees as just causes, and doesn't seem to be as poisoned by the political machine as many others.

I got it stuck in a tree within 15 minutes. Even my paper airplanes don't get very far. Yeah what was I thinking. No terrorist would ever want to try bombing the spy capital of the evil empire, and therefore it would do absolutely no good to know things like how the building survives an impact or what it takes to make it burn, not to mention what the evacuation procedures look like, because why would they want to maximize killing and terror right? Blowing up buildings is so 1998.

I don't think releasing the tape will stop anything. The conspiracy nuts will still have an answer. I have no doubt a plane hit the Pentagon while being flown by a terrorist. Now the last plane, that one I could be persuaded was brought down in a lightly populated area instead of allowing it to continue and cause even more damage. If that was the case, and I believe it is far fetched, my prayers are with President Bush for having to make that decision and the pilots that carried out the mission. That is about the toughest call any US President would have had to make.

I think the conspiracist theory right now is that the flight landed in some airport in cleveland and the passengers are being held by NASA

We already know what would damage the Pentagon: a plane. Everyone saw what the damage was soon after the crash.

It has since been stated, however, that in any future incident of a similar nature that the military taking out the plane will definitely be an option. If that did happen with Flight 93, the communications indicating the passengers were going to take action gave the president the opportunity not to have to make that announcement.

In one frame you can slightly observe the edge (what I assume) of a Flight 77's wing. Eye witness accounts suggest the plane inverted before crashing into the Pentagon, so it's quite possible the image is exactly that.

 

If you were of the impression an aircraft never struck the Pentagon, these videos certaintly wouldn't sway your opinion. Failing to provide real-time footage of the impact will likely allow conspiracy theories to persist. Even undeniable proof of an aircraft striking the Pentagon would have been considered enhanced by computer graphics.

 

Problem with this paritcular security system collecting still photographs once every second is it missed an aircraft descending well over 200mph. Can't blame anyone for lacking the forsight to position a camera in a good location to catch the incident.

I understand why you'd shoot it down. I just don't think that act would have been something to cover up, even if you see if from a purely political point of view. I don't think it would have hurt anyone's image - I think it may even have strengthened Bush's.

I would not have disagreed with that decision, and I would have a great deal of sympathy for Bush for being placed in that position. I couldn't imagine a worse position. Although, once it was determined that terrorists were flying the plane, it would be easy to make the conclusion they were already going to die, so minimize the casualties. And if any President ever had to order something like that, I would hope there was a huge debate. No way I would want any President being able to kill civilians without close examination.

2K+ (guessing on the #) people had already died, three major buildings had been hit, and there were more than a dozen calls confirming the plane was hijacked... there would have been no negative ramifications had that plane needed to be shot down, IMO. Obviously - from the actions of those on the place - they knew that was the only choice.

As logical as that sounds, the press still would have been all over him. The Dems would be screaming for an investigation. They are always sniffing for blood with Bush.
