Im so close to the ignore button, but I really dont want for you to be the 1st, want to use it for someone better....

Not sure why that would be ignore-worthy. Was a reasonable question.

They produce 2 runs, it's a 3 run game with 9 outs to go. Kazmir has 95 pitches, I wouldn't call it over after that.

But it's good to know you would concede a 3 run game with 3 innings to play against a team with a bullpen ERA over 5.5

You seem to forget that our bullpen is just as bad other than the fact we have a closer and Cotts has been better recently. We'd have been down 3, but it wouldn't have lasted for long, as you see right now.

Did you expect them to go 120-40? Its going to happen, glad its now and not in September. (BTW, I dont even think there in a funk. They got owned by the Cy Young winner, Saturdays game was just f***ed up, and tonight was a bad matchup on a few levels.)

Yes, yes I did. :D But seriously, it seems as if their lacking that approach at the plate that they had in April. Of course their going to lose some games and of course there will be some losing streaks but as of right now, I think our bullpen just needs a lift. Whether its Nelson, Montero, Hermanson, Nomo...I don't care, we just need to get people out. I'm not panicking, I'm not jumping off any cliffs but the bullpen is starting to worry me just a bit. Once Contreras is back, I will feel better.

Mussina: 6-1, 2.56, 52/10

Kazmir: 6-2, 2.78, 54/20

Only difference I see is Mussina gets more run support and has a couple less walks, so it's debateable who is the best right now.

Better ERA, better WHIP, better BAA

Looks a little bit better to me

There is a part of me that in games like this wants Logan and Montero to be shelled just to make it look that much worse to make getting another arm in here happen quicker.

I have all the faith in the world Kenny will get something done.

I'm not going to lie....I wanted Boone to give up 100 runs this inning.

Literally just walked in from practice and saw the score...Anyone mind giving me a quick recap? How'd McCarthy look? And the boxscore doesn't look so good for either of our pitchers so far.

I tried asking, no answer :(

We were fine until Boone Logan happened.

Mac was good besides back to back jacks in the 2nd, had to leave due to pitch count and then Logan totally f***ed us over.

So 2/10 of a run ERA, which at this point could be as simple as a ball hitting the catwalk and landing instead of being a flyout, means Mussina is better? Interesting logic, although I guess if you have a better WHIP and BAA, your a better pitcher...similar to how Pods is better than Soriano since his OBP and strikeout ratios are better.

I love stats.

McCarthy looked ok

but everything fell apart with his departure

You know what suxks? The AL west.

It's funny seeing the Yankees continue to come back from a 9-1 deficit vs the Rangers. That game is probably going to take a few years of life away from some Rangers fans.

For the love of everything that is holy what other stats would you like to use?

That Pods-Soriano comparison is beyond horrible. Give me more than one stat where Kazmir is bettering Mussina, please.

I don't care if Cy Young is pitching for Tampa, you should still have a chance to beat them. Santana is the only pitcher in this league who I don't expect the Sox to have a chance in hell against.

Give me a stat where Mussina is more than a fraction better than Kazmir other than "WHIP". Your the one that got into the stats debate, where they have stats that are pretty much identical. I'll give you the argument that Mussina could have been the best pitcher in the AL East right now, but Kazmir has been just as good.

I know what guillen is doing but you need to have major league pitchers on the team not guys to run out there and "take one for the team" that is all logan and this assclown pitching are good for. We need 11 major league pitchers not guys to take one for the f***ing team. Screw that. Friday and tonight were giveaways because our bullpen is short two arms.

A major league reliever should have been brought up and McCarthy should have started the last two games Jose games. Three games since last week were give away because we didn't have apitcher to come in and hold ateam down.

At least we have found out in May and not September.
