Am I the only one who is pretty excited about this final this afternoon? I have the DVR up and running and I'm expecting a pretty close, very exciting game. :cheers

Barcelona 2 Arsenal 1

Im excited. I'll be watching the game closely and seeing the Gunners win 2-1.

wish I could watch it...

Arsenal 1, Barca 0

Sol Campbel header assisted by Thierry Henry

GameCast says Lehman is out with a red card. That sucks for arsenal.

They are playing this game down one man and with their back-up goalie.

with the 1-0 lead, they may shut it down and try to play tight defense for the rest of the game (if thats possible against a team like Barcelona)

That was an entertaining game despite the red card call. It should have been an advantage and a goal for Barcelona since they scored as the whistle blew for the foul. The first 20 minutes (up until the red card) was filled with wide open play. After the red card it was a slower game. Arsenal had a nice period at the end of the first half when they scored, but the 2nd half was dull until the last 15-20 minutes.

Still it was a nice warmup for the World Cup in less than a month. :D

I guess Henry could be off to Barcelona now.

And Arsenal are screwed if that's the case. They'll struggle to qualify for the CL next season if he goes, especially with the way Tottenham are already buying players.

They should be fine, but I heard Pires is likely headed to Villarreal. Why is Arsenal offloading guys? Are they slightly strapped for cash as a result of the new stadium or what?

Pires is out of contract, and Henry only has one year left.

They'd rather sell Henry now and get some money for him, than let him go for nothing next year.

You're right about Arsenal being fine, they always are.

The "big four" are (and will be for years to come) Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool.

A team like Tottenham, Newcastle or Everton will finish fourth or fifth every now and again, but nobody is close to those four clubs.
