BigSqwert
Read this on another message board. Apparently was announced during the NY game on ESPN: 10 for Barrett, 5 for Lee and 3 for Mabry. The White Sox will learn who gets suspended tomorrow. Just turned on ESPN News to get a confirmation.
Sox It To Em
What did Lee do?
Kalapse
If you're on the DL you can not run out onto the field, appearantly Derek Lee did not know this/care.
BigSqwert
QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ May 21, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) What did Lee do? No clue.

Nor should he. Cubs will merely deactivate him from the DL five days before his intended return. Won't hurt anyone.
Whitewashed in '05
If Mabry gets 3 then Anderson will probably get about 5 if not more. AJ shouldn't get suspended so he might just get fined. Pods might get a few too.

Wow, did not know this. Did Contreras run out on the field yesterday? As of yesterday, he was still on the DL...

Exactly, I doubt anyone will fault him for getting suspended, though it will force the Cubs to be a man short on the bench. BigSqwert
Still trying to find this news on the radio and ESPN News. Nothing yet.
Phuck the Cubs
I haven't read anything on mlb or espn.com And if Lee is suspended, the Cubs will simply just de-activate him early. I didn't know about that rule, but it is stupid. It's like the NBA where the bench players can't leave.
Gregory Pratt
QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ May 21, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) Wow, did not know this. Did Contreras run out on the field yesterday? As of yesterday, he was still on the DL... Yeah, actually, I think he did.

And now that I think about it, it could complicate what ever rehab assignement they give him. Edited May 22, 2006 by TLAK
BigSqwert
QUOTE(TLAK @ May 21, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Cost them a 25 man roster spot. Losing Barrett for 10 will hurt. Blanco not exactly a stud replacement.
Phuck the Cubs
Cost them a 25 man roster spot. So? They're going to lose a roster spot when Barrett is suspended. I would think Barrett would at least appeal his suspension so he can play until Lee returns

I would think Barrett would at least appeal his suspension so he can play until Lee returns An appeal doesn't last 6 weeks.

They take him off 5 games before his cast is to be removed, and then re-DL him before his rehab, since's going to need at least 2 weeks. Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 22, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) Blanco not exactly a stud replacement. Understatement of the year.

Mabry will more than likely appeal but I doubt Barrett will.
Phuck the Cubs
An appeal doesn't last 6 weeks. Lee is a few weeks away. I'm sure Barrett will get a game or 2 cut, and if that happens, the player can chose when to serve, therefore allowing him to play until Lee returns. That would be one long ass appeal, Lee will be on the DL for quite sometime still. Mabry will more than likely appeal but I doubt Barrett will. Even if he doesn't appeal, he can chose when to serve as well. Only when you lose the appeal do you have to serve right away.

Sox It To Em
The suspension system in MLB seems to be extremely lax. Players can choose when they serve their suspension? What's up with that?
whitesoxfan101
Barrett shouldn't appeal, he should feel lucky he only got 10 games. Mabry getting 3 makes me think Anderson will get 5 or 6, that should be all the punishment we get unless Jose was on the field.

Mabry probably wont appeal since he only got 3. Im kinda worried about that whole Contreras thing though. Id hate to see him get suspended right after coming off the DL. If AJ gets any punishment at all I think he will appeal and probably win.
Kid Gleason
Has an appeal ever worked against the player? Ya know, they all sit around, look at the circumstances again and then come back with a "ya know, now that we look things over, you're a dick. Make it 20 games."
