AGREED, and if that senario happens I'd be very happy. If the Bulls get Roy or Aldridge then great, if they get Thomas or Morrison, I'll vomit. I wouldn't be opposed to trading the pick either but if they were going to keep the pick, Roy is an easy choice for me. Ronnie is a good player but he's not as good as Roy. ZoomSlowik
QUOTE(Wedge @ May 23, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) Are you Sam Smith? Is Garnett really that great? Uh, yeah. His teams have been horrible for his whole career, and he still consistently got them to the playoffs, making the finals one year. 20 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists would look nice in our lineup, and we'd be a major threat to make at least the conference finals. WHarris1
Please don't take Aldridge, Toronto.
dasox24
I bet it's a lot more likely that Toronto takes Aldridge rather than Thomas. I don't think that Toronto would be very interested in Thomas since Bosh is basically the type of player Thomas could be, but the difference is that Bosh already is that player. ZoomSlowik
Supposedly the Raptors are leaning towards taking Bargnani. Apparently Colangelo has scouted him quite a bit, and they're about to hire the GM of Bargnani's old team as an assistant general manager. whitesoxfan101
Toronto is interesting, as they already have 2 cornerstones up front in Villenueva and Bosh, and have a pretty good backcourt in James and Peterson. To be honest, a guy that they could really use is Rudy Gay. If the Raps use the pick I'd guess it will be on Aldridge, however I think they will do whatever they can to trade out. The Raps also need some people that can play defense, as was made obvious when Kobe dropped 81 on them, and the Raps were also worst in the league in points per game allowed. Supposedly the Raptors are leaning towards taking Bargnani. Apparently Colangelo has scouted him quite a bit, and they're about to hire the GM of Bargnani's old team as an assistant general manager. Hmmm really? Interesting, he's supposedly in the Dirk mode, so if he turned out that good along with Bosh and Villanueva, yikes.....although I'd take it as it would leave LaMarcus for the Bulls. DBAHO
Right now the Raps have holes at C and PG. They've got Joey Graham to play SF in the future, and he showed a bit this season. If Colangelo wants to play an uptempo style of B-Ball like he did in Phoenix, I'm guessing he'll go with Bargnani. Although I think he'll go with him anyway, because he's not the "safe" pick like Aldridge, and he's got more potential IMHO. Either way the Raps should draft a big. Then the Bulls should draft who the Raps don't take. Bargnani will take time, and Bulls fans won't like that, but if you can get him in the gym straight away, and have him bulk up to 265 pounds like Dwight Howard did, then he's got the body to play C/PF but he's still quick enough to play a SF, and that's going to cause major matchup problems. Here is nbadraft's mock; 1 (Raps) - Aldridge 2 (Bulls) - Bargnani 3 (Cats) - Morrison 4 (Blazers) - Thomas 5 (Hawks) - Foye 6 (Wolves) - Gay 7 (Celtics) - Roy 8 (Rockets) - Williams 9 (Warriors) - Carney 10 (Sonics) - Simmons 11 (Magic) - Brewer 16 (Bulls) - Redick http://www.nbadraft.net/

watchtower41
The future. Thinking Thomas is Swift II is pure ignorance. More like Jermaine O'Neal. This guy accomplished more in one season than Swift did in his entire career at LSU. Not to mention he absolutely dominated Jokim Noah and Shelden Williams. He has the intensity and quickness the Bulls need down low. Alderidge is a fine player, but I see Thomas being a much better NBA player especially with his speed. Brian
My first choice is Aldridge, 2nd Thomas, 3rd Bargnani. I'd like to think that Pax has an eye for foriegn talent if it comes down to Andrea, based on the Nocioni signing. I trust Paxson. My only thing with Thomas is that he played one year of college and I'm tired of having to wait a year or so for guys to develop. If he can come in and contribute like Kirk and Gordon did their rookie years, great. I just think Aldridge is more polished and ready for the NBA. nitetrain8601
From everything I hear, Toronto will be going with Aldridge. All their fans think so and Bosh is LA's mentor and has been asking the Raps to draft him since the end of the year. So it comes down to either Thomas or Bargnani. I personally would take Bargnani, but I guess Thomas would be a nice selection. Thing is, if we get Thomas, I would just trade Tyson for an expiring contract because he would be rendered useless. He has the intensity and quickness the Bulls need down low. Alderidge is a fine player, but I see Thomas being a much better NBA player especially with his speed. I disagree. They're very similar players, Thomas just happened to play on a better team. I'd like a little more than 12 points from a guy that's supposed to be a future star. He doesn't do anything on offense but dunk, and two jumpers against Texas doesn't suddenly mean he can shoot. I don't see Jermaine O'Neal at all. One of them has actual basketball skills, the other doesn't. Amare Stoudemire I might have bought, but for every one of him there are two or more Marcus Haislips. He's got a lot more in common with Tyson Chandler right now though. 215 pound post players don't cut it in the NBA. Also, I wouldn't say that he dominated Noah and Williams. In the only game he played against Florida he finished with 2 points, 4 boards, 0 blocks, and 4 fouls, and the 13 boards and 5 blocks against Duke look nice, but not the 9 points, and Williams still got 23 points in that game. You didn't even mention his game against Texas, which was by far his best game against good competition. However, Aldridge was matched up with the much stronger Davis in that game, and it was pretty obvious that Tucker and Buckman weren't really guarding Thomas.
