fathom
QUOTE(Sox It To Em @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:06 AM) Haren is looking filthy. You're going to make him look a lot better if you take his fastball, and swing at his offspeed pitch.
CYGarland
I know it's early, but i hate to think we blew our opportunity in the 1st 2 innings
The Ginger Kid
Sox had their golden opportunity to put a run on the board and it doesn't look like Haren's going to give them any more.
aboz56
Cy Haren out there tonight. Too bad he's going to get it here in a few innings.
fathom
We need Buehrle to hold the A's down. I'm confident we'll be able to score a few runs tonight.

Guest JimH
You're going to make him look a lot better if you take his fastball, and swing at his offspeed pitch. That's because he disguises it really really well. Arm angle and release point look very similar, the hitters need to figure out some tendancies of what this guy throws when in the count ... and fast. fathom
QUOTE(JimH @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) That's because he disguises it really really well. Arm angle and release point look very similar, the hitters need to figure out some tendancies of what this guy throws when in the count ... and fast. Good observation. Right now, our hitters are in-between against Haren. They have to take away either his fastball or splitter. Since they're not going to touch his splitter, they might as well look to rip the heater. Mackowiak's inability to lay off of a 58 footer really hurt in the 2nd.

southsideirish71
Kendall is setting up away after Haren gets a strike on right handers. Then he nibbles further out trying to get our guys to swing at crap. Edited May 25, 2006 by southsideirish71
