Heads22
You guys should cheer for Switzerland, because, honestly, do you guys want those smelly French advancing?
Chisoxfn
Two of my horses are playing tomorrow and Italy (one of my horses) could really help my main horse out (US) by picking up a win. Of course US still needs to take care of things themselves. My 3rd horse (the Doitch, ie Dutch) will be moving on and ready and willing to beat up on the Portugese. DBAHO
So it looks like if we qualify, we'll probably be playing Italy or the Czech Republic in the next round, and you guys would be playing Brazil. Good luck with that.
southsideirish71
Dips*** Arena with the 4-5-1 again. We need goals and creativity, yet f***nut goes with the conservative formation with only McBride upfront. No EJ.
illinilaw08
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) Dips*** Arena with the 4-5-1 again. We need goals and creativity, yet f***nut goes with the conservative formation with only McBride upfront. No EJ. I agree, not an alignment that I like to see. US needs a lot more out of Demsey, Donovan, DMB right now. If EJ isnt a 2nd half sub, i'll be pissed

southsideirish71
f*** you Reyna. Dribbles the ball out of the back, gets his pocket picked like a noob and then its a 3 on 1 break, goal Ghana. Its time Arena to lift the 4-5-1 now. It hasnt worked the entire cup. Put in the 3-5-2 and go balls to the wall attack. EJ needs to come in. illinilaw08
Claudio Reyna should know better than that. Alright Bruce Arena, we need offense right NOW, you cannot wait to get EJ out there Italy 1-0 Edited June 22, 2006 by illinilaw08
Buehrle>Wood
Well, Thank you Italy.
southsideirish71
Italy just went up 1-0. Nice job boys. The formula to advance has revealed itself. However we s*** the bed. Claudio with a s*** pass right into a Ghana defender. Then one of our defenders gives up on a ball, and Ghana gets a shot off. Nice effort so far boys. We want to go home. AssHatSoxFan
if we can get 2 shots on goal in this game maybe it will be a moral victory <_>
RockRaines
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) Could you explain what that means a bit for the soccer impaired? when using those numbers its the formation, the first number being the defense, then moving forward. For example, alot of teams will play a 4-4-2. 4 defense 4 midfield 2 strikers.

Mplssoxfan
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) Could you explain what that means a bit for the soccer impaired? 4-5-1=four defenders, five midfielders (including one primarily defensive mid) and one up front -- a very conservative, defensive formation. 3-5-2= one more man up front -- more chances to score. southsideirish71
WTF is EJ not on this pitch. He has had a good amount of our goals in qualifying. Yet he sits on the bench. Landon with a field goal attempt. Its wide. I would like to see a shot actually go near the goal. That would be nice. Buehrle>Wood
We don't even bother trying to control the ball when we are in their box. We s*** the bed immediatly and take a shot. We can atleast try to open up something.

southsideirish71
There is an example on why the US has no clue on how to play WC football. When you get a counter or a mismatched attack, you drive towards the goal. You do not use a back pass, and wait for you to setup. You drive into the box and make something happen. These are our supposed playmakers dropping back passes.
illinilaw08
Reyna off, Ben Olsen on. Would have rather seen JOB here.
southsideirish71
First sub, Ben Olsen(one of Arenas former DC United players). What a shock. JOB should of been in there. Basically if you ever played for DC United, you have a shot at making the US roster with Arena on the team.
