In the 2nd half we are now 12th in baseball in runs scored, we are behind the KC Royals in O in the 2nd half, and we have only scored 9 more runs in the 2nd half than the baseball retarded Chicago Cubs. He got a 250K raise for winning the WS MVP (How did they know to put that clause in) and another 250K raise for getting 1000 PA's over the two years the contract was signed for. I hope he doesn't put the nail in our coffin on this West Coast trip. And yes I love Thome too. But it's a shame he's not with the Sox considering he still has baseball left in him. Our offense is still one of the best in the league, and as far as I know, thats what he influenced the most. Or does his prescene suddenly make the pitching not suck? I do agree that he's had an excellent year, and that it's amazing that he has done what he's done, but even today, I'd still do what KW did, and I'm a big fan of Frank. Their team ERA is 4.11, ours is 4.55. Their bullpen is putting up a 3.46. Their offense is only #20 in the big leagues overall, so if it looks like Frank is carrying that offense, it's in large part because no one else is producing much in the way of runs. Jenks, who was a rookie last year, is the third pitcher to notch at least 40 saves in either his first or second season in the major leagues.
