Brian
A couple of nights ago, Steve Phillips said that if Detroit wins it all this year, it is more impressive because we didn't beat the Yankees. What a load of crap. We only beat the team that beat the Yankees.
YASNY
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 02:55 PM) Caught a little bit of Dan Patrick on my way home yesterday, and he was actually pretty good. He was talking about how when a team like Detroit comes along, and ESPN is WAYYYY off on their predictions, all the sudden the Tigers "Are a team of destiny..." Same went with the Sox last year. ESPN is always trying to cover their tracks. ESPN caters to the east coast fan base. When the Yankees and Red Sox are out of it, they have to say something. It doesn't take a lot of insight to give after-the-fact kudos to Tigers now that they are the AL champs.

I don't pay much attention to it. But it has a ring of truth. Detroit is winning in the postseason with its pitching. Same with the sox in '05. RockRaines
Something to think about: The top three pitching FA's are Jason Schmidt, Barry Zito, and Matzu-whateva The white sox have trading chips in Freddey Garcia, Buehrle, Contreras, and Vaz. At leat 14 teams are looking for SP's this offseason. We should feel comfortable with what we are going to get for one of our guys.
Balta1701
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 31, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) We should feel comfortable with what we are going to get for one of our guys. For exactly the reasons you say...I'm not totally sure it would be a terrible idea to trade 2 of them, given what we could potentially get back, the fact that 2-3 of them will have their contracts up at the end of 07, and the fact that we already have Haeger and Broadway sitting at the AAA level or above.
