jphat007
I can't believe we are counting on Jeff Nelson. All he did was throw sliders. He can't throw anything else.
greg775
No time to panic, but I sense KW is gonna be up to some moves soon. Mediocre to bad bullpen and underachieving ss in Juan right now and punchless hitting in cf. Not good.
Gregory Pratt
QUOTE(greg775 @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) Horrible game. You are gonna win 60 a year and lose 60 a year; it's what you do in the others that matter. This was one of the 60 losses. It wasn't our day. Poor Jose. Nah, this had the makings of a victory. Contreras did his part, and the one run that scored off of him shouldn't have. This game blew, however.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
QUOTE(greg775 @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) Horrible game. This year's team is doing to Count what they did to Buerhle in previous years. They are totally screwing him over. Im glad I decided to take a nap earlier on in this one, that way I didn't have to endure the suffering of this boring ass game for as long. Ndgt10
Glad we picked up a bum to save us. Nelson wasn't picked up to pitch 2 innings.
BigSqwert
QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Nelson wasn't picked up to pitch 2 innings. He should have been pulled before that inning started. Ozzie clueless with the pen today.
winninguglyin83
ATTENTION KENNY WILLIAMS: We need: A) bullpen help. B) a legit major league CF. C) somebody to lite a roman candle in Uribe's rectum.
jphat007
Bring back up somebody that can throw a fastball. I don't want to watch slider after slider after slider.
Friend of Nordhagen
QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 27, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Nelson wasn't picked up to pitch 2 innings. Nelson got away with one to Glaus. He walked a guy in this inning. He grooved one to Hllenbrand. Anyway, I hope he gets better with some work. Why, oh why, were we in the 11th inning of a game and still had not used our 2 best relief pitchers? Dick Allen
If Nelson was highly thought of at this point, he never would have been broadcasting with Seattle when KW ran into him and eventually signed him. He did his job and got out of the inning before. He's going to give up runs if he faces more than a couple of hitters, look at his recent ERAs. He's not bad for the last guy on the staff or to face a tough RH batter. Asking him to come back and pitch after getting out of an inning is too much for him, especially now when he hadn't pitched since spring training and only pitched 4 or 5 innings in Charlotte. Ozzie obviously chose to take a chance with the loss in order to save the bullpen.

Brian
Just got home, so didn't read thread. Anyone else think Ryan was balking the entire time JD was on 1st in the 10th? 3 pitches in a row he never once came to a complete stop in the stretch. Dick Allen
KW is not going to trade for crap to play CF. That would rule out Pierre, Erstad and Finley. If the Sox do get another CF, its going to be a great one. That is unlikely to be available, so KW needs to fix other spots, specifically the bullpen, and the bench is too left handed. There is no reason Ross Gload should be on the roster. Its a wasted spot.
winninguglyin83
Amen on Gload. We haven't used the guy all year and he's a freakin butcher in the OF.
