Mac, Yerk & Harry..

but not, say, interesting enough to post on what was said?

He talked a lot about his frustrations with the losing that this team is going through. He mentioned again the fact that he felt that each player on this team was still trying, but when MacNeil pushed him on the 25 individuals thing he kinda ducked.

Harry asking him about if there was any point in the season where he thought he was going to go off on the air. He said that during the Tigers series at home he almost lost it, and last night in the post game show after the way the game ended.

He also talked more about the rampant cheating the exsisted when he played the game, and how much he participated in it. He said that they had teammates who were experts at stealing signs as well as his use of corked bats at times, and pitchers scuffing the balls on his team.

He asked him what he would do if he "had the keys to the car" and he respectfully declined out of respect to the organization.

He defended Jerry tooth and nail, and really didn't defend any other management or players.

On Konerko he said it is "all between the ears". That it is a mental thing, not a problem with his swing or anything else. He said Pauly is the first question that everyone asks him when they talk about the Sox this year.

He said that this was the worst offensive slump he has ever seen any talented team go through in his 40 years of baseball, and he doesn't understand why.

He said he thinks that they only team that they have played all year that was more talented than them was Toronto.

He said that the worst thing in baseball to watch was a talented veteran team that didn't "give a crap" about winning. It sounded like a veiled shot at last years team IMO, but that was just a feeling that I got listening to him. Hawk said the second worst thing was a talented offensive team that wasn't hitting. He said when it is the pitching that is letting you down, if the offense is there you can hit over it, but not vice versa.

Well that is what I can remember, I was in the car listening and I think I remembered most everything... ;)

I was "Stephanie in her car on I-55". I brought up the Indianapolis article in which Sosa was describing how his bats are made to his specifications (weight, length, etc, etc...) here's a snipit from the article

" A corked bat weighs about an ounce or an ounce-and-a-half less than before it was altered. Sosa favors bats that are 34 inches long, have a barrel diameter of 2 inches and weigh 31 ounces. He said in an interview with The Indianapolis Star last summer that when he picks up a bat, he knows instantly whether it meets his custom specifications. ''I know,'' he said. ''I just know.''

Seattle Mariners infielder Jeff Cirillo doesn't believe Sosa's explanation that he used the bat by accident. Before a game in Philadelphia on Wednesday, Cirillo challenged a reporter to look around a dressing room where game-ready bats were set like shining weapons in various lockers.

''Batters know their bats,'' Cirillo said. ''They know their game T-shirts, their socks, their cleats. You are going to know which bat is your game bat.

''If you look at his bat, it was game-ready. He had been preparing. It was like a hunter sharpening his bow. And if I had a corked bat, I would surely know which one it was.''

My end comment was.. how was it a mistake, if he "knows"..?

They were up in arms cheering me. Mac said "now I know why we were told to put this one on right away". I was on hold less than 2 minutes. It was pretty cool.

Great job!! I'm sorry I'm way out of listening range, would have loved to have heard it. You'd make a top notch investigator or investigative reporter, although I'm sure your current career is far more lucrative. Tell your husband that SI1020 says he should be damn proud of you.

I heard you near the end of the interview. You sounded "doable".

ROTFLMAO!!! :headbang

Did ya hear me sneak in that I was a Sox fan/season ticket holder and I did not like Sosa.. but respected his playing ability. I tossed that in there for the douche bags that would say 1. "wtf does a chick know?" and 2."oh, no wonder she's a Sox fan"

I heard that too. I was sitting in my car waiting for the rest of my softball team to show up. I wondered if it was you when they said "Stephanie on I-55", then when you threw in the "Sox season ticket holder" stuff, I just knew it. :cheers

I tried to get on this morning with Mike & Mike but they never take calls so it was impossible to get through. I wanted to talk about pussy boy Pedro and his whining. Little asshole. WTF hasn't baseball and America done for those 2 f'ers??

I might be inclined to call today. I can't believe Sosa would ADMIT he cheated.. but not take the punishment like a man? WTF is his excuse..? I didn't do it??

What a f***ing joke!
