Guest hotsoxchick1 Posted November 6, 2002 Share Posted November 6, 2002 this is just funny how things work out... as you all remember i posted about the allstar flyer on oct...29th... funny thing happened the very next day.... i was poking around a few sites i go to and i happened to find this interesting article on chicagosports.com......funny how things work out sometimes isnt it........and you all thought that no one important read the boards..... lol lol lol lol... its all in the dates...... This All-Star is All-Snubbed -------------------- Chicago Tribune October 31, 2002, 11:12 PM CST Frank Thomas is no Ron Kittle, that's for sure ... The White Sox may be keeping the door open for Thomas to return in 2003, but they already have begun to phase him out of their marketing campaign for the upcoming season. Season ticket-holders who received their renewal packages in the mail this week also received a flier for the 2003 All-Star Game at Comiskey Park. The flier contained photographs of 10 Sox All-Stars, past and present. Noticeably absent was one Big Hurt. But fear not, Frank. The Tribune Sports Subcommittee on Massaging Frank Thomas' Bruised Ego has a few ideas why this might have happened: - When you look at the numbers, there really is no comparison between Ron Kittle and Frank Thomas. OK. That's enough picking on Ron. - The creators of the flier designed it on a Dell, and dude, they forgot someone! - Only friendly folks made the flier. You know, like Carlton Fisk. - They were going to put Frank on it, but Paul Konerko talked them out of it. - They were going to put Frank on it, but Dr. David Wells talked them out of it. - They were going to put Frank on it, but general manager Ken Williams suggested Todd Ritchie instead. - The creators of the flier are suffering from diminished skills. I figure its only time until they figure out about this one. well jas i dont know they could have only gotten the idea from one of two places.. either here or at the mlb boards where i posted the same thing... or they are snooping around in my email lol..... either way i find it interesting that they wouldnt have picked up on it sooner than having someone on a message board (like me) pointing it out to them......this isnt the first time i have seen someones b**** and gripe turned into an article on there and im sure it wont be the last.. i guess that sports writing is kinda dead this time of year huh since they have to lurk around message boards to find something to write about..........lol....... I've noticed a few times that things get thrown around on the board of either site and the "coincidentally" they are brought up by a major Chicago media source. Guest hotsoxchick1 Posted November 6, 2002 Share Posted November 6, 2002 well i know for fact that the sox front office is watching all sox boards very closely these days... i had an interesting phone conversation with gug tonite and he got a nasty email from the person who sent him the email about the frank not being on the flyer thing i posted here in that thread..... they commented on how someone named hotsoxchick1 was able to obtain it and post it on the message boards ..........as soon as he sends it to me believe me ill be posting it up for all to read.... they are so busted.!!!!!!!!
