daa84
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) KW has to go out and get some serious bullpen help. If we bulk up the bullpen, this is a WS team. I don't think it is with the current bullpen. Picking up Jeff Nelson off of the scrap heap isn't enough. We've got enough back of the bullpen guys already. We've got the prospects, so trade a couple of them for a couple genuinely good bullpen arms. The sooner the better. im hopign and praying the angels remain way under .500 and maybe, just maybe, a guy like scott shields becomes available
Dick Allen
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) Everyone is looking for bullpen help, and not too many teams are willing to sell because they're still in it. Which is exactly why he should have been looking to sign real relievers last winter instead of the Monteros, and Lopezs, and Bentz's of the world. fathom
Look at the three relievers the Tigers have used tonight. If you add up their ERAs, it would still almost be our best reliever.
SoxFan1
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) This is why I don't look at who you are playing just how you are playing. We've lost 3 of 4 to the Tribe letting them back in the race. Detroit beat the hell out of the Tribe and everybody said Detroit is playing nobody. Cleveland is now right back in it. If/When Cleveland wins tonight, they will be 7.5 games back. Not exactly "right back in it."

I absolutely HATE the idea of trading for bullpen help. Even though I realize it's necessary, it's such an inconsistent position which will cost us several valuable prospects. Why isn't anyone looking at the pile of s*** we call a minor league system and questioning where the pitching help is? Of the entire system, no one is readily available to assist our bullpen--and that's just sad.

You felt pretty confident with a 15 game lead last year right? We all know how that well. It's May. They made up those 15 games in two f***ing months last year. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the Indians aren't 10 back, they are in this race. CWSOX45
santo=dorf
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which is exactly why he should have been looking to sign real relievers last winter instead of the Monteros, and Lopezs, and Bentz's of the world. He made an offer to Mike Myers but Myers said he wanted to pitch in New York because of the "mystique" or whatever. Who else was there? Billy Wagner, Roberto Hernandez? Another thing: Signing bullpen help is one of the most risky moves a GM can make because relievers are so inconsistent. S720
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) When the f*** did I blame Ozzie for what happened to McCarthy? I wanted McCarthy to start the 6th inning, as I think he's a hell of a lot more comfortable starting the inning instead of coming in with people on base. It's truly disappointing to see what we've made McCarthy into this season. Everyone in this site knows that you always blame everything on Ozzie. It goes back to last year. If McCarthy can not handle the heat, then he has no business being on the team. He really STINKS so far!
Baines3
What in the world happened to the pitching staff? Losing 3 straight now to Cleveland is pathetic. Thank goodness Detroit is on a losing streak also.
