QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 11:08 AM)
If he was, I'm sure someone in that neighborhood would find something to shove in his mouth...

That is awful

I should be ashamed for writing that...

and ashamed...I am. :headshake

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 02:37 PM)
A priest, a rabbi and Noam Chomsky walk into a bar...

And cutting to the punch line

[snip]

. . . So then the rabbi says to Chomsky, "Well, how much did you expect a priest was going to know about cunning linguists anyway?!?"

:D

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 11:30 AM)
I'm just happy to be the straight man in that exchange.

That's right, you heard me.

:bang

I'm just glad I didn't go with the alternate punchline. . .

So then the Priest turns to the Rabbi and says, "Silly Rabbi, licks are for kids!"

. . . because that would be bad. :o

:)

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 03:39 AM) *

I don't much care if the guy killed his wife and drove away in a Ford Bronco. As long as he pitches better than Cliff Politte, I will tolerate him.

Greg the Bull with a priceless gem right here.

From the angles of the seats thread...

QUOTE(zach23 @ Jun 13, 2006 -> 11:48 AM)
Why don't the Sox just realize that there are some things that need to be done so that ALL fans are happy ALL the time. They just need to do the following:

Change all the seats so that they change color depending on the person looking at them. So if someone likes blue or green or red, or whatever else, the seats will read their mind and change to that color just for them. Others looking at them will see the color they like.

Charge only what each individual person is willing to pay for admission and personally deliver the tickets to them when it is convienent for them. If someone doesn't want to pay, let them in free and they should be able to sit in the best seat even if there is someone else that wants to sit there. The Sox just have to figure out how to get everyone into the seat they want at all times.

Make it so that all seats point in the direction that all people like at all times with no obstructions. The seats must be soft enough for those that like soft and firm enough for those that like firm.

Get every player that every fan wants regardless of cost or roster size. If that player then doesn't perform to the satisfaction of any fan anywhere, get rid of him and get better players. The Sox should have a team that always goes 162-0 and wins every World Series. Every fan in the park should see the lineup they want to see even if that means 30 guys must be in the starting lineup. The Sox must simply figure out how to get that to work.

Everyone must get to park for free right next to the stadium. Everyone should be allowed to show up 5 minutes before game time and still be able to get in to see the first pitch. There should also be lots of bars and restaurants real close to the park, but there must still be parking lots for everyone as well, and the bars and restaurants must not turn the neighborhood into Wrigleyville. For those that hate bars and restaurants, they must be invisible. For those that walk to the park and hate parking lots, the lots must be invisible and they should be able to see nice houses and trees.

The Sox should have every announcer and commentator on earth on the payroll doing their own play-by-play and commentary. The fans can then choose from 1000 different radio stations to hear only the play-by-play and color commentator that they want to hear. Same with TV.

Every newspaper must write only about the Sox. Every sports radio station must only talk about the Sox.

The stadium must be willing to morph into different stadiums for each fan's taste. If one person likes the old Comiskey better then it should morph into that. If they like the old park but with the new park's concourse, then it should do that. If someone likes seeing the skyline, then the park must rotate so they can.

Nobody should wait in any line for anything. Vendors should be able to read everyone's mind and bring them the food they want immediatley. Each fan should have a personal vendor for each type of food and beverage and their own personal restroom. Every type of food and beverage ever created should be available with a vendor to personnaly serve it to each fan. The fans should decide if they want to pay anything or eat and drink for free.

If the Sox would just stop being so cheap and address these things then everyone would be happy.

The following discussion deserves a group "lol".

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:40 PM)
Consider this a McDonalds wake up call to Agustin Montero and Cliff Politte. :bang

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:42 PM)
Worst reference in recent Soxtalk history?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:55 PM)
Chances of that are... remote

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 02:58 PM)
I hate you.

Palehosefan with a sold one on the Ben Roethlisberger thread:

Ben should be fine for the season. Saying he got lucky is a big understatement. Hopefully he learned his lesson. You don't need to be driving around trying to break people's windows with your head.

From the thread about Cardinals fans being by and large pretty classy.

QUOTE(Guillen @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 11:06 AM)
I would have to say Philadelphia fans are probably the most polite of all in this country. All you have to do is look back to when J.D. Drew's walkman died and everyone in the stadium donated their batteries to him.

BeWare takes a thread directly to its natural conclusion:

QUOTE(soxwon @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 08:31 PM)
Who saw the trophy woman at the game monday night.

Dressed in Gold surrounded by the trophy.

I must get a picture of her

Does anyone have one?

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 01:04 AM)
I haven't even seen her and I already know that I want to sleep with her

I shudder to think at the damage a pussy like Al Gore or John Kerry would have allowed to be inflicted on this country. Pussies like that want to sing songs and "give peace a chance" while Islamo-fascist terrorists plot and execute attacks on our country.

QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 08:42 AM)
Yes, I remember John Kerry's sing "Give Peace a Chance" plank in his foreign policy platform well.

I think I remember it being next to George Bush's "Eat the Old" program proposal as a way to save money on school lunches.

I luuuuv Rex.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 09:48 AM)
You can't take rocks from a Communist country - it's government workers' pay.

QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:36 AM)
"Baseball is a social institution with responsibility to set appropriate tone and example. Conduct or language that reflects otherwise will not be tolerated. The use of slurs embarrasses the individual, the club and the game." - Bud Selig.
