The other way to look at it is, if Brian Anderson were showing a bare minimum of success at the plate, they'd never have to pinch hit for him. He isn't, so you pinch hit Mackowiak. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Yeah, well, it's such a stretch to say that on a ball that Mackowiak froze on and misread, but still ALMOST caught up to, Anderson would have gotten.

Well you have to agree that Anderson reads the ball off the bat better,and gets to the ball better. So if Mack was almost there,you would think Anderson would be there.

 

You might be right but I think the ball was over his head no matter what.

It's exactly what I said earlier. Anderson's struggles at the plate are f***ing this team over big time, and a result is Mackowiak having to play in CF.
