hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) I noticed the other day that Frank raised his career batting average from .305 to .306. That's probably been the first time in a long time where he actually raised his career batting average. Yes sir. His career OPS was down to .989 through the middle of May, but now it's up to .993. Kalapse
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 03:40 PM) Yes sir. His career OPS was down to .989 through the middle of May, but now it's up to .993. If he could only some how get back to 1.000 for his career that would be HUGE, that's an extremely exclusive club right there.

I'd have to agree with you on that, maybe even 0 for 13 or 14. Basically, I'd like to see the A's have three box scores like the Angels put up today. ptatc
You can see that Thomas still cannot run. He has only 9 doubles in over 400 ABs. He is hitting a ton of homers because he needs to. I'm hoping to see him go to the HOF just not with stats from the upcoming weekend.
GoodAsGould
After we score 10 runs and assuming Oakland has 0 Ill give Thomas permision to hit a HR off of Neal Cotts.

AirScott
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) I'm an A's fan for this October. I am too. I want to see Frank win a ring as an integral part. not complaining about how we won last year, but since Frank didn't get a Kirk Gibson moment, I want to see him win as an everyday performer. Greg The Bull Luzinski
I had trouble deciding who to pull for this October. The A's it is, though they may not make the 2nd round if they face the Twins.

CWSGuy406
Oakland got a pretty decent outing from Harden today in his first start back. 3 IP, 7Ks. If he could stay healthy for a month, I'd say that Oakland will send the best #1-2-3 pitching punch out of all eight playoff teams. LET'S GO OAKLAND! GoodAsGould
I love Frank Thomas but I just cant bring myself to root for the A's... id rather any of the other 3 teams in the AL win.
Greg The Bull Luzinski
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) I'd expect them to handle the Twins with ease, actually. I guess this raises the question, who is the best team in the AL? Tiger - I say they only play 3 more games then the White Sox. That said, Twins, Yanks, and A's. A's have the best pitching with the Twins lacking Liriano. Yanks have experience, but look how far that got us and the Red Sox. Yanks defense is suspect, though they are by far the best offensively. It is so close because there is no dominant team. I think the Twins can't win in New York, at all. Yankee Stadium is Minnesota's Oakland. For that reason, the Yanks or A's would have to be the favorite.

CWSGuy406
Why the hell hasn't Marrioti written an article on Thomas? Isn't he a clubhouse cancer? Why aren't the A's in the cellar with the "Big Skirt" at the helm? Go Frank!
